Thank you Cyclones players for such a great effort for a good crowd
in the stands. Hey management- you owe me $6.50 since I saw only a
50% effort. The least you can do is refund me 50% of the ticket price.
Friday night was at least 85% and that was enough to win in overtime.
Boy do we look ready for the playoffs !

bags, I wasn't at either of the last 2 games, i'm not certain if i'm detecting sarcasm. Why would management owe you money? Did the Clones give "great effort" or not. Did management do something that falls short of a fan appreciation night. You are not giving me anything to go by.

Yes it is part sarcasm and part anger after a first place team
looked totally out of place these last two nights. If the players
were so worried about getting injured, why even go on the ice.
Hockey is a game like football- if you step on the field and don't
give your usual effort, your chance of injury is greater when the other
team is playing full speed. Evansville came to play-we didn't ! I'm not
a fight guy but last night I saw more physical action at a mall sale than
on the ice. Somebody needed to pick a fight just to light a spark both
on the ice and in the stands. Only spark in the stands came from the
Evansville group (reminded me of the old Indy road trips we use to do)!
Maybe management doesn't owe me the $6.50 but either the coaches or the
players do. I came down to see a real game, not a preseason game. Too many
times I've seen this team play only to the level of the team they're
playing.

I concur, Bags. The past two nights have been alarming. I witnessed a whole lot of standing around and gliding. I was hoping they would have used this time to work on things at game speed, but that appeared to not be the case. And the power play?! Yikes. It's beyond abysmal. I think there is room for legitimate concern when you review the recent body of work. Vitucci will have the Walleyes ready to play and hungry. The Cyclone better amp up the intensity or else summer vacation will come soon.

Thanks Eric for at least one other fan last night who was not happy with
the play. I know the game didn't count for anything standings wise, but
"Fan Appreciation Night" should have at least meant a better effort for
the large crowd. Why do we play better before 1200 than 7000+ ?

While the effort was terrible and they should be embarassed that the last place team beat their asses in front a big crowd, I'm not really alarmed.

Evansville had pride to play for and finishing the season with a win againt the P1 team was a big deal for them and that great group of fans they brought. The Cyclones had nothing to play for except NOT getting beaten by the last place team. Obviously that wasn't very motivating.

Second, if not for a couple of weak ones by Houser, some missed shots at an open goal and some (frankly) lucky saves from Reid the 'clones would have won anyway. And when you can play with that little effort and still should have won you have waaayyyyy more talent than the other team.

Finally, that's likely not the team we'll see for most of the playoffs. As guys start trickling back from the AHL that lineup will change a whole lot.

Don't panic. If Toledo takes the first two at home you can start panicking.

Yes, I grew up playing hockey... In Alabama.

Panicking is not my point- pride to the fans is. The theme was
"Fan Appreciation" not "Sorry But We're Playing It Safe" night.

Really the Evansville fans pissed me off more than anything.

Even when I visit other teams... Dayton and Wheeling... I only clap and cheer when the Cyclones scored a goal. They got way too annoying.

Funny how it pissed you off but it didn't seem to faze the team. I know this
team has really come together and I see the missing talent coming back, but
can you really "turn it on and off" that easily ? My hats off to the Evansville
fans for making the trip with only pride on the line. As bad as the Dayton fans
used to be, I wish they were still in the league and making the trips down.

Randy, I have gone to many away games where we do the same chants we do at USBA (including the "oooooo, c-ya"). When you go with a group of fans you should be into the game. I applaud the Evansville fans that made the trip for coming over to cheer on their team and send them off to play golf in style. They exhibited an amount of enthusiasm that has not often been seen at USBA for the last couple of seasons. How is it that 100+ fans can be heard over 8000+ fans? Can you say the fans gave 100% effort last night? If not, then how in the world can you be upset with the Cyclones?

Personally, I got mad when Eves tried to block a shot in the third period. We have playoffs coming and he’s trying to block shots in a game that is completely meaningless? Who does he think he is, Sydney Crosby?

I would have to agree. The home teams has to not to give the visiting fans anything to get excited about. I was on the opposite end of the arena and could hear their "Let's go Icemen" chant. Had the other 8,000 fans had anything to cheer for, they could have easily been drowned out.

...And on the eighth day, GOD created the Cyclones!

Yes but cheering when their goalie looks like they blocked a shot when it just hits the glass... counting down when their player gets out of the box... saying we suck when they are second to last in the league... ignorance is bliss I guess.

Hey Randy, maybe cheering for the puck hitting the glass is a good thing in Evansville because they're used to so many of those pucks hitting the back of the net? Also being 2nd to last in the league usually doesn't matter to Eville fans because in the AAHL and CHL you still make the playoffs! The need to learn that in ECHL a team actually has to win to make the playoffs! :)

Unless you're in the Western Conference, then everyone makes the playoffs...well almost!

If you've ever gone to a road game for your team as a fan, your job
is to let your team know your there. Evansville started by lining up
for the team on the ice and flowed through the game with chants no
worse than we dish out to opposing teams. We as home fans never answered
back. If you want to be mad, be mad at us for letting them rule the game.
