Looking back, maybe the win/loss record in the season gave us false hope
for the playoffs. I know we were second seed, but how many games did we
sneak a 3rd period win or at least a tie when our play didn't seem to deserve
it. This team may have been overachieving so much that Reading finally showed
our true weaknesses. If this team had been the 7th seed playing 2nd seed
Toledo in the first round, we would have overjoyed to get as far as we did.
Loss of Lewis or maybe the added speed of a Luciani might have been the edge
we needed against Reading. As is, it was a great year for the team and hope
to see some of these players back next year.

There a couple things the Cyclones could do that would put another 1,200 to 1,500 fans in the stands every night and build the full season ticket base.

But I'm sure folks like Bags and Scuba have no interest in hearing these ideas. :)

I can no longer blame Jarrod for anything.... in the world of minor league hockey you play with what you are given. We had a great batch and when they got better they got jetted to San Antonio, and we still won a division title and two playoff series' with what we had. All of it was worth it. I can not wait to see how the offseason plays out!

PS good seeing everyone again on Saturday :D if I get this position I am gunning for I am moving back to Cincy and getting season tickets!

KELLY CUP CHAMPIONS- 2008, 2010
AMERICAN/EASTERN CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS- 2008, 2010, 2014
DIVISION CHAMPIONS- 1996, 2008, 2009, 2013
2008 BRABHAM CUP CHAMPIONS
Boards + visitors = broken bones!

Forget seeding in hockey. Over 72-80 games a few point difference means nothing in playoffs. Every team wins or loses a lot of games on lucky bounces even when outplayed ane perhaps not deserving.

Look at the NHL this year so far as far as seeding. Had Boston not pulled out a miracle in game seven, both conferences would have had semi finals consisting of teams seed 1,5,6,&7. The Rangers were down 2-0 and came back to win game seven in DC on the road. Toronto was down 3-1 and almost won game 7 in Boston on the road. The finals in the ECHL Western conference were won by the fourth seed beating the 3rd seed. Even the Islanders took the Pittsburgh to a game six OT.

Sitting here minding my own business, but like Bags said I have NO interest hearing anything from you, besides I have ZERO control of how many folks come into the arena to watch a Cyclones game. Don't you have a roller-coaster to sit on?

He's the one who drug SCUBA and me in this. I'm willing to listen to
realistic ideas if he wants to throw them out. I just get tired of
constant jabs at my posts or any former Cyclone player who is trying
their best to earn a spot either in the AHL or the NHL.

Come on Don, you cannot simply come on here and throw a few jabs and then run......what gives? look i'll tell you what, you tell us what neat ideas you have to increase cyclones attendance and I'll give you a few to increase amusement park attendance.

I'll tell you what: You call me and I will share some of my growth strategy ideas, and then you can share some of yours.

If you're not willing to do this, then perhaps it's time that you drop that axe you've been carrying around for more than a decade. It has to be feeling pretty heavy by now.

With respect, my axe is as heavy as yours and as I said earlier in this thread, I was minding my own business, but you felt compelled to include me in your earlier post on the subject of increasing Cyclones attendance....... and stop emailing me

I didn't think you'd respond to the opportunity to have an offline discussion about things the Cyclones could do to put more fans in the stands, Scuba. It's not your style.

Moving on, if the Cyclones offered a 20oz souvenir cup for $12 and you could use it to get free unlimited refills the rest of the season, would you buy it?

Interesting idea. Since I know little about the marketing area I would have to ask where the profit and loss point is for the organization? Obviously the average fan could pay for it in just a few games, and with the large soda containers it would take longer for the organization to lose on it. While I wouldn't but one (only because I don't drink soda), I would bet the wife and daughter would.

...And on the eighth day, GOD created the Cyclones!

Good idea with one change- refill would be either 50 cents or $1.
This would keep the abuse of "free refill" of happening. You could
have one cup bought and constantly used to refill others. Kil-Kare
Speedway use to have similar with the tall type with long straw.
Could even have the schedule printed on it. Still have some of my old
Garden's plastic buckets for popcorn and the great acrylic Samuel Adam
Cyclones glasses.

Good idea, DH. I'd buy it.

Could the cyclones also sell two or four game packs as well? That's popular with the Reds.

OOOOOHHHH...C-YA!
