Just a few thoughts on the pre season Alaska games. IF this was the regular season a split is a fairly respectable result its always hard to get a sweep in anything because its the pros. One thing that did catch my eye looking at the game sheets was the Aces were 0-7 on the PP for the two games! Against the Aces thats impressive no matter if its pre/reg/post season. Clones were 3-8 which for teams that have played 2 games would have led the league. Lots to work on but keeping the Aces 0-7 on the PP is a good sign for those two games. |

Although the logistics of this series worried me. I think both teams gained a lot by playing each other. Alaska has been at the top of the Western Conference for years, and have won two Kelly Cups. The Cyclones have been at the top of Eastern Conference, and have also won two Kelly Cups. With this both organizations are well run, and I think benefited from these two pre-season games. Hopefully the Cyclones learned a lot by playing the Aces the last few days. If anything it was a good team bonding trip. |
