Just something I wanted to mention about Matt.
At the beginning of the season I was incredibly unimpressed with Mac, I thought he was too concerned with hitting instead of the puck, constantly let the puck hop over his stick, just sloppy play. As time's gone on, though, I think he's really turned into a great player. Saturday night I noticed one specific play, might have been on a Power Play but I'm not totally sure, but Matt got tied up along the right wing boards in the Clones zone and came away with the puck, and instead of looking for a forward (who were all out of position), he took it himself up through the neutral zone and took a shot on net. It didn't go in, he had a great opportunity, but what really struck me? He was back into position INSTANTLY. As soon as he took the shot and the play had caught up to him in the Nailers' end, he was right back at the blueline.

| this goes hand and hand with the discussion on brian. back when they were losing in the fall, brian was playing, matt was sitting. when chuck made the switch from brian to matt the team started winning. since matt has gotten his chance to start regularly, he has been solid back on the blueline. |

Here is a name from the past that may be available, Nikos Tselios.It looks like
he played a few games for Chicago in the UHL and then either left or was released.
With a good coaching staff, a solid group of defenders and a NHL affiliation that
could give him another chance,what would you think of trying him out if he is still
in playing shape? |

| he would be considered a veteran and i think we are already at our limit of 4 veteran players....but it would be great to have him back if we could fit him in somehow. |

If we are allowed to have him,one phone call is probably all it would take.If
he is in Chicago,a drive down for a try-out isn't going to take up much time for
the coaches.If he is in playing shape,maybe familiar surroundings and a winning team
would spark him for a playoff drive. |
