Brian Nugent of the Cincinnati Cyclones is the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for March 17-23.
Nugent scored five goals, assisted on one other and was a +4 as the Cyclones won a pair of games against Elmira last week.
The 25-year-old tallied four goals, including the game-winner, and had an assist in a 7-5 victory on#8200;Friday then scored one goal in a 4-1 win on Saturday.
A native of Victoria,#8200;British#8200;Columbia, Nugent has 19 points (12g-7a) in 23 games with the Cyclones after being acquired in a trade with Las Vegas on Jan. 29. Overall in 48 games this season, he has notched 22 points (13g-9a).
Prior to turning pro, Nugent played four seasons at Northern Michigan University, recording 15 points (9g-6a) 110 games. |
