all three were at practice today. i find it hard to believe that we would keep three goalies on the roster. apparently, last night at the coach's show chuck said the plan was to keep ben around. i would assume that he knew that dov was coming back at that point. we should also keep in mind that the last time dov was released, he cam back for a week before being called back up. i wouldn't be surprised if the same thing happened this time.
personally i feel that ben is a better fit for the team. ceddy plays best when played regularly and ben makes for a great back-up. |

But at least we finally got ride of LaRue for a bag of used balls.
I personally agree with Elvis ... I seem to like it a lot better with Dejardins being the man guy, but bags is absolutely right, we're screwed with a spork if he gets called up. |

Dov looked great the first two weeks of the year but now he seems to be wondering
away from the net more and slow to go down to the ice.He reminds me of the later
Danny Lorenz. Someone has got to find a way to give him confidence on breakaway
attempts ( like shootouts) because now he is dead meat. I haven't given up on him
but I'm not ready to put him out there every other game yet. |

dov has the skills physically to be a great goalie. i just don't think he has it mentally. it seems like he gives up a lot of goals early and late in in periods; almost like he's not ready to play early and shuts down before the period ends. when he gives up early goals it seems to effect him for the rest of the game. i think its a mental/confidence issue more than a skill issue.
odds are ben was put on IR so we could get dov a start with out releasing another player (players on IR don't count towards the roster total.) now that dov has his start he can be sent back to portland on another PTO or maybe traded for a defenseman, and ben will be off IR before our next game on weds. |

I am willing to contribute to a fund devoted to supplying him with high-octane coffee, latte, cappuccino, etc. for the duration of the game.
You are right, he has the skills. The mental aspect of the game is hurting him. |

Three big differences in Dov and Cedrick's play.First,Dov is making too many stops
that aren't clean and end up with rebounds out front.Second,Cedrick is quicker to
dive on a puck and stop play where Dov tries to do more stick action of clearing
it away.Finally, Cedrick goes down to the ice and will stay there as long as the
puck is near by.Dov tends to stay upright and only goes down for a shot block.The
problem with this is our defensemen tend to leave defenders and themselves out front
and Dov can't see around,where Cedrick is wathing more from waist level and the ice
level is completely blocked. |

| i was at sports plus taking advantage of some free ice time on monday morning and happened to notice that all three goalies (ceddrick, dov and ben) were at practice again. i am still working on the assumption that the team is plannin on either dov being calle dback up or potentially trading him. if that is not the case why is ben still around? he was put on 7 day IR when dov got back so we wouldn't take up a roster spot, but he comes off reserve on weds morning. i can't imagine us putting him back on IR to save a roster spot again, and i can't see us releasing him when we could potentially trade him. i'm starting to wonder what management is thinking. |
