We have been to Dayton many times. They usually have ushers stationed at the top of the aisles, but I agree, it still doesn't stop the people from walking around, they just can't walk down the aisle.
We just got back from visiting our son in Seattle. We attend Major JR A (thunderbirds) games every year. The have ushers at each entrance with signs and do not let the fans go to their seats until the puck stops. For the most part, most of the fans stay in their seats. It just takes education and cooperation on part of the arena management....and proper training.

I have no love for the US Bank Arena staff but I possess a tremendous amount of love and appreciation for the Cyclones reps who have treated my friends and family very well this season. This said, I completely understand your position. I almost hung up the jersey this weekend. I will despise some of the arena staff for the foreseeable future, but I decided not to allow them to dictate my love for this game of ours.
I very much hope you guys stick around to share the love, the excitement, and the glory that is Cyclones hockey. Regardless of your decision, I wish you all my best.
This is my 1st year as a Cyclones fan as I've only been in this area for 3 years. I was with prometheus for this incident and we talked about it the other day, and I gave him my take on it. If as fans we are not happy with something it is well within our right to voice our displeasure to the teams staff. And I too extend an invitation to anyone who wants to pay us a visit to suite 6.

Did you ever notice the people who make the most trips are the people sitting in
the first 5 rows. We sit 5 rows from the top and rarely do we ever move during the
game.But every game we seem to have someone with a five year old kid taking ten
seconds for each step make ten trips during play. Why don't these people move up to
the top rows.How about this idea-put lettering on the top of each glass saying
"PLEASE REMAIN SEATED DURING PLAY".Our ushers need training on handling a hockey
crowd.First off,only worry about correct seats if there is a problem.Second,try
to stop the aisle movement during play and a "friendly" reminder to someone who does
move and third,walk down and tell people to be seated if they are standing during
the game.As for Twister not out during the game or between periods-he was allowed out
with the Kentucky Speedway horse mascot on Nascar night.It wasn't like we dressed him
up to look like a priest or a nun! |

I have to say I am neither a fan of NASCAR nor Christian Rock nor silicon on Melt-the Ice night, but I am glad the management is trying to get bodies into the building. Maybe a small percentage of them will become fans.
I have been going to Cyclones games since the inaugural season at the Gardens and will continue. We sit in 112 just above the visitor walkway. We have the same problem with attendees in section 110 standing while puck is in play, coming in late, leaving early, etc. A lot of these people must have hearing problems, because very few of them seem to respond to "Down in Front" requests. I agree-it's hard to enjoy the game when you can't see what's happening on the ice! Until the arena management instructs the ushers to keep people up top until play is stopped, this will continue to be an annoying problem. Would I stop going to games because of it, no way! |

I think there will be numerous growing-pains as the crowds get bigger. Getting into the parking garage was an ordeal, and the food lines will be enormous too. I dont believe they have enough ushers either. But I guess I am willing to give them a pass this year, since its been a long time since they had hockey and longer since they had big crowds. There is also a learning curve for fans, as they need to learn hockey etiquette. But yes, USBA had better upgrade their arena service during the off season. Who knows what the Jungle Kat crowds will be like. In all fairness, I also admit that the luxuries of smaller crowds will pass too. I wont be able to park in my favorite spot, or get food without a line or refill my beer at will when the crowds hit 6000.
As far as Christian Night goes, I dont know why they would think beer sales would be down. Have they never been to a Catholic Festival? If Christian Night draws this kind of crowd, maybe next week they should have Lenten Fish Fry Night instead of Bikini Night.

bgwags, if you don't mind i'm would like to forward your post the head of the ticket sales. the more people that complain the better the chances that this will get changed.
i found it hard to believe that they didn't have the band move up the concourse when they were done praying...er....uh...i mean playing, so that people who wanted to meet them would not be in the way of people that wanted to watch a hockey game.

| Yeah, how about those ushers that did nothing over the fact that the 15 kids sitting behind us on Friday threw ice at my sister & our friends, stole one of my things, repeatedly told us to shut up (we were supporting the team), and nearly crushed us trying to get to Twister. I'm like, come on people! They said to point out the kids, but of course they disappeared shortly after stealing my things... |

| yeah, the all mugged me when I tried to give out stuff I brought for specific people. Grabbing and pawing all night. Not a fun night for Twist. But about the last comment.... The Redhawks kick A$$, and in the next year or two they will be a dominating force in the CCHA. Zatkoff Rules!!! and Effinger is pretty cool too! |

I was pleasantly surprised that the people at the gate last night were handing out those little cards about standing during play. Too bad it had absolutely no effect in section 110, and the ushers did nothing to enforce it.
I asked one of the women who were handing out the cards, and she said they were doing it because of the requests from Section 60 people. |

yeah and to have your ticket rep tell you that he/the organization is
"happy to have that problem" (people obstructing others view during play) is crap.
and yeah of course nothing happened Hakee. the ushers get paid to stand there and pretend to work, however, i think if the fans who actually care take matters into their own hands over time change can happen. especially for the start of next season. if "rules" are estblished by season ticket holders and fans who are at every game maybe the situation will improve |

| to clarify what our ticket rep said...he said they're happy to have the problem of fans obstructing others veiw over the problem of not having fans in the building at all. However it was said, it was a bad attitude to take on the situation! |

| yeah yeah that's what i was getting at but i guess i could've done a better job of clarifying what exactly he said. but then again if the ushers did their job and people used a little common sense this wouldn't be an issue! |
