The two articles in the Enquirer Sports pages this morning (11/17) about hockey in Cincinnati are a real crock! Don't know what those guys have against us but they sure like making us look bad as opposed to that other team in town.

I want to know why Helbig was quoted in that article? Isn't Daughtery smart enough to know his agenda? I have written many editorials to the paper to no avail.

My advice, folks:

Let's not take this lying down. Respond, respond, respond.

Write an email to the Enquirer and to Daugherty. Let them know what a piece of biased, bad reporting this is.

Remember, civility works. "YOU DIE NOW!" emails aren't going to win anyone over.

Don Helbig was at the game the night Paul Doherty wrote the article. duuuuuh......think there is a connection????? Every time there is a negative article written about the Cyclones one name keeps popping up.....Helbig's. He was there with someone else who is 'anti-Cyclones'. I think most of us know who that is too.

We might not be in the AHL or play in the 'state of the art' Cincinnati Gardens but our organization sure has a lot more class than the other team does. It's interesting how they know so much about our team's statistics enough to be quoted in the paper. It doesn't look very professional for someone who works for the Ducks to be quoted all of the time with negative information.

Make sure you check out both articles that were in today's Enquirer.

I got an email response from Mr. Daugherty (I'm assuming it was him. It was from an AOL address, had the subject title I used for my email, and was signed "PD") and I have news for you guys...

Mr. Daugherty has informed me that the Cyclones did not take "fans" to Europe. They took sponsors.

I think we've just gotten an indication of what kind of mindset we're dealing with.

"Sponsors"????? Well, guess I missed something then....sure don't see my name on the ice or a dasher board. Is that what season ticket holders are called at the Gardens....sponsors???? Guess I should send Mr. Dougherty some pictures of the 'sponsors' who PAID to go on this trip! He has NO idea what he is talking about....obviously!

FYI, I've started a cyclones hockey group on yahoo groups. Please sign up, this will be a private forum for us to talk about the Cyclones, and membership must be approved before you can even read the messages.

Here's the link:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/cycloneshockey/

Btw, I'm not trying to steal anyone from this site. I just want a place that we can talk and prying eyes can't read.

Thanks! Be very careful that you know who you are giving access too.

Can you believe that BGWags has been banned from the 'in the crease" message board because 'someone' from 'another' team complained? I think it needs to be known 'what' team and in what league. Bet it isn't the ECHL!!!! What a joke! Puckguy gets to say anything he wants, deflaming people like our Pres/COO and yet gets his feelings hurt. It can only be him or DH. They were the ones in attendance last Wed......they stood out like a sore thumb!

I reread the email from the moderator of In the Crease, and I was just warned. I guess the first time I read the email, I was shocked and then I had to dash off to work so I thought I was banned. I just questioned a certain person's agenda....
And Glyn is correct, puckguy can say what he wants, under different names every few months, and gets away with it. I am finished with that board.

According to Joe@ITC, puckguy had been warned several weeks ago to knock it off.

I emailed the Enquirer today, and I received the same basic email from "PD" I also called the Enquirer and I got into a pissing contest (sorry for the language) with some "higher up" She assured me that the sports editor would call me (yea right). She basically echoed the seniment of "PD" and said that the team should market the team itself. She asked me what I thought, and I told her to CANCEL my newspaper.

Are all Cyclones fans being kept from reading the 'Removed Topics' post on 'in the crease'? Just wondering since most people I have talked to this evening can't access it. Is there a little discrimination going on here???????
