First off, I'm still a Cyclones fan but this year it really
costs to follow the team. The game on Friday was great, but we
all can't afford to shell out close to $40 for two adults. Parking
is $1 more, no $6 seats so add $6 more to sit behind nets( you
told me last year you should sit in your cheap seats and not move
to the more expensive ones). Add in no radio coverage except on
the computer and now Mehring Way is closed from the west probably
until February.
If we all park on the public landing, the city is going to close
it or start charging. If we all bring our pop and snacks in,we will
lose the concession stands due to lack of business. How about going
back to $6 behind the nets and $10 for the first 10 rows in the
upper level sides?

I thought the most expensive seats were $17 which adds up to $34/2 people. Do you have season tickets? Or are you adding in a service charge?

$34 for two $17 seats plus $6 for parking does equal $40. However, corners & endzones are $9, so that times 2, plus parking is $24.

I'll sell some of my extra not-used season tickets for $8.00 each. As far as the Public Landing parking goes, I don't think the city would get away with trying to charge for parking there. Also, if you're coming from Delhi, just use Second St. It's a straight shot to the landing. Let me know if you are interested in the extra tickets.

Thanks for the reply. Here is my math:$6 parking,$18 two seats,
$1 for stat sheet,first intermission food $10(Large soda,medium
soda and large popcorn)and second intermission $3.75 to split
one large pop. Total is $38.75. Notice NO beer, no souveniers
except stat sheet, cheapest tickets available. Those same prices
would not be bad for the football because what are you talking,
10 home games? I was hoping the cheaper ECHL would mean the club
could pass some on to us like last years $6 same day seats. The
worst part is the team looks great and I can't even follow them on
the radio for road games

Unfortunatly, that is where most sports are headed, well, I think they have been there for a while. About a month ago, I went to a Jacket's game, about $40 for the ticket, then $10 for beer, and $4 for some food (nachos I believe). We got a hotel room, so parking was included in the room. $54 approx. for a game/adult. A family of 4 would pay close to $200. 4 tix ($40), 4 pops($3), 4 hot dogs ($2.50), $10 parking = $192. All of this for one night of hockey (prices are approximate).
For minor league, ticket price is reduced to $9-$15, depending on which team you are watching, but all of the other prices are still the same. Apparently, the other team in town, which used to pride itself on lower prices, now offers a cheapest ticket of $10.

One of the best money saving tips I have ever heard is to watch out for being nickle and dimed to death (i.e. instead of buying you morning coffee from Starbucks at $1.40/day, brew your coffee from home, about $.10/day, saves $325/yr). At an event like this, you can simply eat before the game, park on 3rd St (you do have to walk a bit more, but it is free parking). The new cost of a game would be $18 tix, $1 stat sheet, $3.75 pop (if you still get thirsty) = $22.75. I know a lot of people will say that the food and beer is all a part of the experience, but since I am there to watch a hockey game, I personally will take a pass on all of the extras a game has to offer.

My $.02.
