Well, as far as Labenski goes, he's one of my least favorite. He's got a massive slapshot, but that's all. The main reason he was signed is that he has married a girl from Dayton and they bought a house here as well. His main fault is that he takes too long to let that slapshot loose. The opposing goalie has plenty of time to set up for it. Cedrick stopped it several times this past year, but when Labenski didn't fiddle with the puck, and just let it fly, the goalies didn't have much of a chance at stopping it. Stupid penalties is his other downfall. That cost us a lot last season. Mainly in the playoffs. No, he didn't take a lot of penalties. But when he did, it hurt, worse than many of the others.
I just hope you guys have hockey stay around for quite a while. The announcer wearing his Clones jersey is sure to spark more interest in Cincy hockey as well. Forget about the naysayers that complain about "AA" hockey being too slow and boring. Those are the same people that would complain that they received $1,000,000, in pennies, if it were given to them tax free.
Class? Nah, I just like hockey and was glad to see that he had been chosen. I'll probably catch a couple of Clones games this coming season, other than when they play Dayton. I just like hockey. So, if The Bombers are away, and I need a fix, I'll wear my Bombers jersey and enjoy a Cyclones game. Having met Hakeedude, I know where he sits. He talks hockey while watching, and he watches for the same things I do as well. I'll enjoy our next meeting as well.
