ok all of you cyclones historians got a question for you all. when was the masoct twister born. for the best of me i cannot remember the year twister was born. i think it was after snowbird took flight to the big ice to the north but cannot even remeber when that was.
any one up for this with specifics to verify your findings.
any help will be greatly accepted. |

after thinking about it for awhile i could not remember either. i can remember being at the opening night game when he was introduced and he slid out from the zamboni's snow compartment, but i can remember what year it was. i very google searches and still nothing definitive. my best guess is 01-02 was his first year, but i could be wrong. the last mention of snowbird was the 00-01 season and 2001 was the year the IHL folded, so 01-02 would make sense with the team returning to the ECHL. i'll keep digging and see if i come up with anything else.
while looking i did find this little nugget of information which i got a laugh out of......
February 1995 -- Don Jackson, coach of the International Hockey League's Cincinnati Cyclones, is suspended 10 games and fined $1,000 for climbing over the glass and attacking Atlanta Knights mascot Sir Slapshot, who had hit the glass while Jackson was leaning on it. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/more/news/2003/07/10/mascot_timeline/
i was going to a lot of game sat that point, but didn't keep up on the news of the team. any of the guys that have been around awhile remember when this happened?

Ya know, it's funny... I was the one who slid out of the Zam and I don't remember the exact date either! I have it on video and would need to look it up. If I have time I will this weekend. The worst part about the Zam bit was just waiting to go on. It's very clautophobic. Jo Jo drove the Zam. I was hoping he would stop the Zam at center ice but he opend the doors on the move. It was way kewl either.

| I have said they should do some type of mini-promotion with Twister for a while. I still have some of the Snowbird plush dolls they gave out years ago, I would love to see one of those of Twister. |

Anything would be good. Speaking of promotions the team picture would be good in the begining of the season. Gives you a chance to get it signed by the players. |
