I was wondering the same thing. And what did Mitts say about using your stub for another game?

All I know is we sit right on the line down there and the Cyclone
player was not moving and the Augusta "Diver" skated right in front
of him, tried jumping over the stick, and fell right in front of the ref.
Maybe I jinxed Cedrich by praising him but he looked horrible tonight.
Do we need to get the leash out to keep him out from behind the net.
All night he looked like the last place he wanted to be was in front
of the net.Augusta slowed the pace down by constantly grabbing and
diving and we never got going until late. Lets see if the Cyclones take
the hint that reasonable price tickets will get the fans in. Just think
how much money the concession people could have made if they just get
organized behind the counter.Did anybody else fear an attendance count
in the 3500 range. That crowd was a SOLID 6400 and some of last year's
3400s should have been 4500s.Lets hope 1 out of 6 return Wednesday !

I posted on another board that I thought anything less than 4000 would be a bust. I was thrilled by the turnout. Wasn't it wierd to look up and see groups of fans in the upper bowl? Let's hope this jump starts the team at the box office. On the ice, we'll be fine.

Amazing crowd and atmosphere. I predicted 5400, my buddy insisted it would be 6000. He was right. We got to the game at 7 and my buddies who didn't have tickets yet had to wait in line where each box office was about 30 people deep. Hell, it was the first time in as long as I can remember that they actually had to use alphabetical willcall.

It was crazy to see that kind of crowd, so reminiscent of the IHL days. The thing I was most impressed with were the number of people who actually had hockey jerseys on, whether they be Cyclones, Stingers, or random NHL teams.

I thought the concession stuff was kind of crappy ... two mini-hot dogs on a bun and a cup of soda not much bigger than a shotglass. Oh well, I know beggars can't be choosers. However I would be pissed if I waited in those insanely long lines to get that.

The loss was a heart-breaker but it was a great game and that's all you can ask for with that kind of crowd on hand. Let's REALLY hope a lot of those people found interest and will return (and return and return).

It sure sounded like Slew-Footing, which isn't on the scoresheet. Slew-footing is when a goalie take's a guy's feet out from under him. Plus, it's a match penalty not a minor... soooo who knows.

And yes, that crowd was amazing. Too bad they took far too many stupid penalties and gave up 2 too many PPGs! :( It looked like people were really into it in the 3rd though.

Btw, according to ECHL.com, our arena capacity (obviously not including the upper bowl) is 6955... meaning we were 500 short of a "sell out." :)

Tonight's crowd was great. Wish we could've pulled the win. Hopefully everyone heard about usuing their ticket stubs to get in free to a weekday game. Let's get them hooked!! I also agree that we all need to suggest that the dollar beer stands be EVERYWHERE so that the lines aren't so ridiculous.

Yes it would be nice if the Enquirer finally woke up, maybe even got some pictures, and wrote an article about the game. I can't hold any high hopes though. Perhaps they'll save their token "let's have one longer than one sentence Cyclones story" of the year piece next week again relating Wilson's training with Rich Franklin.

I also didn't understand that mysterious call ... me and my group thought he said "Clue Footing".

And yes the concessions/lines were horrible. I guess they were just totally unprepared as they had no idea of what kind of crowd was going to show up.

yes the crowd was great to see and they were into it. i myself saw some people at the game i thought i would never see at a cyclones game (former duck season ticket holders). this is my first year for cyclones season tickets. before that we were duck season ticket holders for six years and two years ago when we had no team in town we were season ticket holders for the dayton bummers (sad to say).after the game some-one came up to me and asked if we were duck fans. i told him we were season ticket holders and he said an individual whose initials are d.h. (now works for kings island) called me a traitor. i told him i wasn't like the other duck fans who would rather sit at home and wonder what if. i have always been a cyclones fan from the begining.anyway to make a long story short... maybe all those people from last night who didn't give the clones a chance will now realize that they are a really good team and a fun experience.

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
