Finally there is decent advertising for this team. The past two days I have heard commercials on the radio on mainstream FM stations for Pink night, and this morning on the local news they advertised the game while showing video clips. They showed a clip of Martin's scrap the other week and him skating to the penalty box.
The Cyclones are also back on the cover of the 07-08 Yellow Pages which I got yesterday.
It's amazing how when they have a great promotion and it gets advertised they can get 6500 people to a game (Stingers night, very reminiscent of the IHL days), and an expected huge crowd Friday. |

They're definately getting the hint that it does take a sound advertising department to make a hockey team do well in this city. I still come across people who didn't know the cyclones were back in town. As for reminiscent of IHL days ill hold that on reservation until we nightly pull 10,000 people like @ the gardens, oh how i miss those days.
Also, i saw the picture on the cyclones page about how the rink was painted pink, please tell me it's not going to be pink for the game, i couldnt imagine how hard that would be to play on , especially for goalies. |

| I run into people all the time two that don't know the Cyclones are back. On top of that, they think they still play at the Gardens. |

| Of course it's going to be pink for the whole game. That is the whole point and what they have been advertising. |

It was kind of like... a little hugging... then the gloves were shaken off... then Zaore swung a few punches and slung Aubi down on the ice and took a few more hits, then it was over. |

ok, so what the hell was that first "fight"? Aubin curled into a ball and went turtle style drawing his head into his shoulder pads?? That's the first time ive ever seen a fighting major actually being put on the board as a penalty. |

oh I don't want to relive that one... my Aubin jersey ALMOST took an early exit after that...
and you're right, they should have offset, even though one was a minor and one was a major, and they should have played 5 on 5... that was kind of stupid. |

| I have seen a recent rise in the advertising and coverage for the team myself. Actually, it all started to rise after I went on my tirade with the media. I sent every one of them an e-mail. You say some of the responses on an earlier forum. They all said NO INTEREST or said they do cover the Clones. Well, somewhere, someone stepped it up. I am not looking for a pat on the back but I do think my e-mails did a lil more than what it seemed. I also saw that Meijer has a kiosk thing where you can fill out a form for free tickets. Even if you don't fill one out, it's advertisement! I applaud everyone for any work you have done!! |

| ^ truthfully I have done that the past few seasons(that we have existed) and I didn't get much of anything from anyone. I have noticed that the Enquirer is finally putting more than 1 paragraph in the paper lately, so thats always good. |
