I know he is small but how about Billy-Irish Baker given a shot on defense. He can handle the puck and isn't afraid of anyone that I've seen. It would be great to see his hustle at the blue line when we are on offense and his smaller size would help out on vision for goalies on defense.
I'm not sure how he would be on D but I at least think Irish-Baker deserves a full time spot on the roster. I know we have to manage roster space and can be overhauled at time, but I don't know what else the guy needs to do to prove himself worthy when he gets a shot to play.
Bebe, you are correct. He's played 2 games for them so far.
The good news is that after tonight, the schedule is very light for us. We only play 5 games in the next 24 days. By that time, any of the players who are in the AHL as 'extras' (like Schmidt) or injury call-ups will probably be returned to us.
