Anyone else check out the game sheet from last nights game for Elmira vs. Johnstown? The Jackels 'fought and scratched' their way to a come back but came up short in the end. Hope our guys have their mind set for a physical game tonight. There is no doubt in my mind that Elmira will make things interesting tonight. Just hope they have a Ref that will NOT let things get out of control!
Hope to see a lot of you in the chat room while 'GAME ON' |

To add to tonights Elmira game,Cedrick is due in goal and I hope he can take the abuse the crowd is going to dish out towards him. With the lack of true defensemen to protect him, this could be a long night. |

Date: Saturday, January 12, 2008
Cyclones Watch Revolving Door Take Another Spin Sixsmith, Syroczynski Gone To AHL, Escobedo, Hafner and Futers Join Cincinnati In Elmira
CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Cincinnati Cyclones announced this afternoon they have signed defensemen Brian Escobedo, Peter Hafner and Shawn Futers to tryout agreements and had forwards James Sixsmith and Matt Syroczynski taken by American Hockey League teams. The Cyclones are the ECHL affiliate of both the NHL’s Montreal Canadiens and Nashville Predators.
Sixsmith was recalled by the Milwaukee Admirals (AHL) and is expected to be in the lineup tonight for their game against Rockford. Syroczynski has been loaned to the Albany River Rats and is expected to dress tonight for their game against Worcester. Fifteen different players have played for the Cyclones and in the AHL this season.
Escobedo, 25, is in his third stint with the Cyclones—having played eight games in 2003-04 and again for a pair of games last season. Brian has played 94 games preofessionally (all in the ECHL with seven different teams) over four seasons. A 2004 graduate of Bowling Green, Escobedo played in 146 games for the Falcons, scoring twelve goals and adding 37 assists for 49 points and 138 penalty minutes.
Hafner, 24, will be making his pro debut. A 2006 graduate of Harvard University, he played with Cyclones goaltender Dov Grumet-Morris for three seasons there. Peter was an eighth round choice of the Florida Panthers (number 232 overall) in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. He appeared in 129 games with the Crimson, collecting five goals and 17 assists for 22 points and 84 penalty minutes in his collegiate career.
Futers, 22, is a third-year pro. He has appeared in 17 IHL games this season between Muskegon and Flint, netting a goal and two assists for three points and has 47 penalty minutes. In 2005-06 with Tulsa (CHL), Shawn accumulated 51 games, three points (1-2-3) and 251 penalty minutes.
The Cincinnati Cyclones play a pair of road games this weekend, starting tonight at Elmira. Tomorrow’s game is at Reading (5pm) and both contests can be heard on 96 Rock in Cincinnati. Tickets for all Cyclones games can be purchased at the U.S. Bank Arena box office, all Ticketmaster outlets including select Kroger stores, charge by phone at 513-562-4949 or online at ticketmaster.com. THANK YOU CYCLONES !!!! EVEN IF THESE GUYS ARE NO GOOD,AT LEAST THEY HAVE PLAYED THE POSITION AND WORTH A SHOT.WHEN WE KEEPING MOVING FORWARDS OUT OF POSITION,THEIR PLAY WILL START HURTING BOTH AS A DEFENSEMAN AND THEN BACK AS A FORWARD.I STILL MIGHT BE TEMPTED TO USE IRISH-BAKER ON DEFENSE BECAUSE I LOVE HIS HUSTLE AROUND THE NET ON DEFENSE AND TIME WILL GET HIM MORE USE TO STAYING IN HIS "ZONE" ON THE ICE. |
