Nobody expected us to last a round in the playoffs, and we made it to the finals!!!! No great effort ever falls short! Im proud of our Eastern Conference Champion Cyclones! Next season, we WIN the cup!
But congratulations to Alaska... well earned Kelly Cup... and Madore earned the Playoff MVP award... its a great award for a well deserved guy!

Couple of things, I would have been heart broken watching the Aces skate around on OUR ice with the cup. Second, in retrospect I think that Alaska was clearly the superior team. However, I don't think there was a better team that could have come out of the East to contend for this years cup. I was down on the Clones after Saturday's game, I wasn't sure if the effort was there but again in retrospect I'm thinking the Clones might have been 110% but even that might not have been good enough against the Kelly cup winner.

The Aces were just too good and it was a bummer to see another team celebrate on our ice.
BUT it was amazing to see all the fans standing and applauding as the final minute ticked down and even better to hear the whole arena chanting LETS GO CYCLONES! while Alaska dog piled in celebration.
Great season, just sad to see it end... Looking forward to October.
PS DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE I CAN FIND A JERSEY PATCH FOR THIS SEASON'S CUP FINALS!? They were sold out last night. |
