I am aware that the ref is in training mode too, but the ref dropped the ball and blamed the Cyclones for HIS loss of sight of the puck... I wish to consider this one as total highway robbery!
To Orlando's credit, they caught us on a bad day... we didnt play our best, we let a few too many chances go by the wayside, and the heart wasnt really there.
But the crowd was loud and the atmosphere was awesome! |

One of those rules I don't like but it is the rule and refs are taught that when they lose sight of the puck they are to consider the play stopped and blow the whistle. Even if the whistle is not actually blown by the time the puck reappears, they are to consider the play dead.
YTD stats and observations and interested in others
WINS: One win in six home games thus far and that against an expansion team. Two of the three road wins against CHL team.
LOSSES: Lost 5 straight games each by one goal ( not counting empty net goals)Not counting empty net goals. The last 8 games overall have been decided by one goal. Competitive.
Lost 4 straight at home each by one goal after coming back from at least two goals to ti but then give up the winning goal. Against Wheeling down 0-2 and 1-3 come back to tie and lose. Against Orlando down 0-3 come back to tie and lose. Fort Wayne down 1-3 come back to tie and lose, Orlando down 0-2 and 1-3 come back to tie and lose!!! See a pattern? On flip side have scored first in only three games but won them all.
ISSUES: Third best team in the ECHL in shots allowed per game which is great but at the same time third worst team in goals against average. Not many shots given up but a lot of them have gone in and many of them soft ones. YTD Madore's GAA average of 3.42 is 38th out of top 40 goalies who have played 180 minutes. His save % of .870 doesn't even make the top 40. Britain doesn't make the top 40 in either category with a GAA of 3.56 and save percent of .854 which equates to four goals on each 27 shots!! |

dbc, I see a very disturbing pattern here... one we need to reverse if were gonna go anywhere...
bte, for those who didnt come, we discovered and I spoke with Chuck Weber briefly... he was in town, and I am hoping he was in town to discuss coming back. We could use a guy like him back in the organization... |

The best fit for Chuck Weber is college hockey. He's a better recruiter than coach. |

LOLOLOL. Couldn't have anything to do with his wife living in Cincinnati could it? "Discuss coming back" one month into a season? You make me laugh, dreamer. |

With Arizona State University adding men's Division I college hockey to their athletics program, why not the University of Cincinnati? The team could play at the Gardens, or if given a favorable lease, at USBA. Chuck Weber would be the right person to get the program off the ground. |

Strong rumors out of UC is that there is consideration to turn Armory Fieldhouse into an on campus hockey arena. However the University is "nervous" about another sheet of ice in town, and any competition from the Cyclones. |

The University wouldn't be concerned about competition from the Cyclones. UC students would be more inclined to watch the University team than the Cyclones. The hockey team would be packaged in with the sponsorship deals with basketball and football. You want UC basketball season tickets in the prime seats? You also have to take hockey same as you do football. The Cyclones would be the last of their concerns. |

That's just the rumors floating around. So who knows what is really going on. |

UC is not going to add any varsity sports. Add hockey, you have to add another women's sport to meet Title IX requirements. Unless they move to a power conference, they will not have the budget to add two non-revenue sports. |
