Signed a contract with the Bulldogs for the rest of this year and for next. Way to go Conrad Martin. Hey HFH what was you saying about him last year?? Not to bad for a player that can't skate backwards eh?  |

| who me? NOoooo just stating some facts. Last year I was told that C Martin has no business being on this team B/C he was a waste of space. He can't stake backwards and he can't fight. Just not a good hockey player but I had faith in him and he is moving up the hockey ladder. Way to go C. Martin keep climbing that ladder. We will miss you here in Cincinnati. OH and BTW did I hear somewhere that Cory U got traded ? I can't find it know where but just wanted to see if it was ture. |

| Martin's contract is a two-way deal (AHL/ECHL). It doesn't mean he's going to be in Hamilton the rest of this season and next year. It only means no other AHL team but Hamilton could call him up if/when he's sent back to the ECHL. |

I heard that about cory as well. i hope that whatever montreal gets in return the FNG is worth it! |

WOW. gotta say maybe a little sensitive there? correct me if I am wrong but where in that post does DH say anything about the talent (or lack thereof)Conrad has? seems to me he was just pointing out the obvious-that there may come a time when conrad is in cincinnati regardless of his talent level. i mean look at cory (prior to the trade of course),aubin,and gleed for instance. i believe they are each on an AHL contract yet from time to time they spend a few games in cincinnati....

No I'm just sick of all the PPl that always put a negative spin on things. He didn't tell us something we didn't already know. There is always a chance of being sent down to a lower level no matter what league you are in. Why did he come on here and say "it a two way contract and he can be back in Cincinnati" why can't he just be happy and give him some credit for making it to the AHL? |

i guess i just didn't think that was the point. now maybe you know this person better than i and it's possible it was a jab at conrad. i personally am like you in the fact that i am happy for conrad. it's good that his efforts are being rewarded. but keep in mind even though you know that a two way contract allows for a return to the echl at any time-and to cincy specifically-..maybe not everyone else does. anyhow rather than let this get off topic anymore (than it's already gotten) i say good for conrad and continued success! |

I don't think he meant it the way you're taking it either. I think I know who the guy is. And, I realize your anger/disgust/annoyance at having to stick up for the Cyclones against other "hockey fans" in this area that refuse to support them... BUT I don't think that was what was meant here. This guy comes to games, and supports the Cyclones unlike others that are hermits in their homes (or only go to beer league at S.P.) because they can't get off the fact that their team is gone.
I think he was just reminding us that it's not for sure he's gone for the rest of the season like everyone is acting. Yeah, the fact that they offered him the contract shows their HIGH interest in him, but that doesn't mean he will stick up there all season. I hope for him that he does, but I also hope for us that DH's theory comes in handy! |

| And I started this post B/C Martin signed an AHL contract that means that he belongs to Hamilton now. If he didn't mean it that way he should have stated it different. Not the way he did. He makes it sounds like the only reason the signed him so no other team will and they ARE going to send him down sometime soon. I am just happy that the Cyclones have players moving up even thou it only to the AHL. And Cait I know DH is a season ticket holder (from what he says)so why must he say what he did and not just be happy that he moved up to the AHL? I was always taught to give credit when credit is due and Credit is due for Conrad Martin. |

personally i think it sucks that conrad signed a contract. he signed said contract with just 7 games left in his PTO. had he not signed he'd be back here, holding down OUR blueline....YES, i am that selfish. i want our boys to win, having conrad, mackers, and JM he greatly increases those odds. sure it's great for them they get to move up. but our boys playing in the AHL is not going to help us win.
personally i like donnie's point and i think it was well stated. the fact that conrad signed a 2-way with our parent club should be mentioned. in the event that conrad does get sent back down he'll back here. this is important to bring up, not because anyone (besides me...selfish remember) wants him to get sent down; but, if we spin this a little and look at JM. if JM signs with the baby pens and then gets bounced back down, he will most likely not come back here, instead he'll be in wheeling, which sucks harder than yannick tifu in the refs locker room.

It don't bother me. You think you are sooo smart. You don't think that Most of us know that there is a chance he might be back? I started this topic to let everyone know that Conrad Martin signed a 2 year deal(The rest of this year and next year)with the AHL Bulldogs. That's the life of a minor league player you might stick and you might not and right now Martin is sticking in the AHL. Where no one on that other board gave him a shot. They called him nothing but a DIII hockey player and a future bartender. Do you see anywhere in my post where I said he was in the AHL for ever? I just said that he signed a 2 year deal with the AHL Bulldogs. |
