He shows little AHL scoring (3pts in 40 games) and few (15)PIM's. If
these are indicative of what he brings to a game, I'm not counting on much. Big, slow, uproductive and unagressive does not help us in the least.

| Rob Niedermayer didn't score many goals but he was a big part of Anaheim's Stanley Cup championship team. Kirk Maltby doesn't score many goals but he's vital to the Red Wings success. Likewise Dan Cleary, who had 20 goals before he got hurt a couple weeks ago for the Wings. Head coach Mike Babcock said, "It's not the 20 goals he scored we're going to miss, but his tenacity on the forecheck." While someone may not score a lot of goals, they may do things that create scoring chances for someone else. If he can create a little more room for a guy like Desharnais, is strong on the forecheck, then he contributes offensively without putting up points. |

But, his Harvard stats indicate a scorer-type and not a physical player. His AHL stats are scary bad. Given that the Cyclones lead the league in goal scoring, I don't sense a pressing need for this type of player.
If he improves the team, then I hope he plays. If he doesn't, I hope to have the regular opportunity to see him in the stands and tell him how much I enjoy watching him play!

hrc666-you may have hit the nail on the head.His college stats were good
but his AHL stats are bad. Maybe he wasn't ready for the AHL and the ECHL
will pick his game back up. Cedrick had a horrible game in the AHL this year,
but has dominated in the ECHL. Maybe he was used on the third line with non
scoring players and the results were bad. I'll give him the benefit of
"show me your game" before I throw him away.Look at what Irish-Baker has
turned into for us. |

| With all of the line changes we are making in adjustment for the welcoming of the new guys and the leaving of the old guys, those key ingredients may need an extra stir. No one can say right now how these guys are going to fit in or if we are going to be able to notice a huge change in seeing other guys leave. Right now, I think we're doing fine. However, that can all change very fast with these moves. Chemistry, chemistry, chemistry. Hopefully, these boys fit in pretty seamlessly. I want some more wins! |
