I said 'potentially" slow, etc. Just was basing it on his previous stats having never seen him play. He fits fine for this level. I heard that he's only here for a conditioning assignment and will return to Milw. shortly.
Latendresse and Aubin are the two I'm really glad to have. Aubin is playing with a bit of a chippy attitude, too. It's probably his ticket to the AHL given his lackluster skating abilities. This offense is just incredible.We have so many guys who can produce it's got to be scary for our opponents. They can't key on a few individuals or a line. Almost everyone can score.
Now for a few of our d-men back and this freight train may be unstoppable. |

That's why stats are often and most of the time misleading. I like Aubin when he plays with a serrated edge. Skating was an issue for his father, too. His father had better overall offensive skills but he wasn't as big, strong and fiesty as Matheiu is. He has a good chance to be in the AHL full time next year.
The Cyclones have enough skill but they need some more grit if they're going to get past teams that are bigger and stronger than them in the playoffs, like Elmira. |

They about blew me away. I had no problem with the music but the volume was ridiculously loud. Turn the volume down just a little and I would be very happy with them. |

AHH...but they do have the grit. Boner, Avery, and Maki will drop em with anyone, and Maki has been bringing the pain the last few nights. Deitch will hit anyone, and Starling finally learned how to hit. I don't worry about anyone in our division but Dayton. They suck, yet they play us so well. |

| Personally i think we are a team that has the grit and the players who can produce the big hits and fight when needed. The key words being when needed. We have a very smart hockey club who uses their head instead of fists and realizes if the opposition goes after a guy and gets a penalty,staying out of it will help the team more instead of fighting and taking a penalty also and losing the power play. Like with what happened to johnstown last night and dayton last week. We have the power but dont show it as often as other teams because we have the brains they dont posses |

They do quite ok in the one-on-one battles. Desharnais wins most of his and he's a midget. Aubin, Syroczynski give us the size up front. The team has been scoring alot of its goals from right in front of the net of late. Earlier in the season the team had a lot more speed and competence on defense and played primarily on the perimeter.
Dietsch is a decent battler s is Irish-Baker and Fuller. Eghoetz and Reynold do ok. I think this Latendresse plays with enough passion. I assume he will be sufficiently 'gritty'.
The team has the grit to win in the playoffs. The achilles heel will be the defense. Wolfe, Bozoian, Perkins, Irish-Baker (as a d-man) and Dulac probably won't cut it to win it all. If we get 3 of our mainstays back (out of Martin, MacDonald, Miller, and Gleed) then I think we'll be alright.
Maki isn't any great shakes. He's pretty much irrelevant to the long-term success of this team. |
