| You could do it, but you'd have to be careful. You need permission from the team and the league and you must know where Public Access draws the line between an informative show and an advertisement. If it's seen as an advertisement, it simply won't make it on the air. They may go as far as saying that you can't show footage of the games because it has the logos of the sponsors along the boards. It'd be worth looking into. |

Yes, but this isn't just advertisement, it's a total sports show. Give the Reds and Bengals 2 minutes each, maybe a ski report from Perfect North, Clones news, and maybe some High School Bowling...LOL Or maybe just do Hockey news. From Miami, to the Clones, to the NHL. Just ideas. Anyone have a cool basement and a camera. LET'S GO...WAYNE'S WORLD, PARTY TIME, EXCELLENT!!!!!!! |

| FSN broadcasts Lake Erie games all the time. Putting a few ECHL clones games wouldnt hurt the network. Or even playing rhen on the crappy My Network TV I would wrach the away games and the homes games that i couldnt make |

| The coverage in the papers still suck, the Cyclones had three games this week and only article was about Deitsch, which was a good article. But I can't believe even when they do put a tiny four line article in the sports section it is always hard to find. Then they print a whole sections on basketball, which we don't have any in this town and most people don't care about. The Enquirer appears to me to be an anti-hockey paper. They don't hardly print anything on hockey include articles on NHL teams. At least they could put more updates about the Blue Jackets since they are an Ohio team and closest to this area. |

You see all sorts of coverage in the Wheeling newspaper, and Elmira, and Trenton, and Reading. Do you think that part of the problem is that aside from Phoenix, Cincinnati is the only city with major league teams to compete for media coverage?
I also wonder if both Phoenix and Cincinnati sports fans in general suffer from Major League snobbery. The attendance in Phoenix pretty much sucks, and they have a larger city (don't know about the entire metro area).
I remember there frequently being "film at 11" back in the early 90s, also when the Cyclones were cited by Cinti Magazine as being the "hottest cheap date" in the city.
Personally, I think the major league snobbery by both the media and the fans is a problem. |

| I was talking to coach after the coaches show tonight and he agreed with hakeedude about the major league snobbery. He also said since the team plays so late its hard for papers to write about the cyclones and have a good article by the next morning. Oh, Heckler... i have an awesome basement and camera we could use. EXTREME CLOSE UP!!!!!!!! |

Good point, but even without the major league teams here we have HS bowling to compete with......... sad but true. |

| You know whats funny about this, we are the one team in the City that has a chance to do something big(and it was the same way last year) and the paper just doesn't care. I don't know what the deal is, maybe the sports writers have something against the Clones. |

Lets jsut put this out here because we seem to be repeating ourselves a lot.
Yes, a majority of Cincinnatians only like major league sports. And yes they have no prior knowledge of Hockey here. Those are two of the reasons that there is so little coverage and care.
If we were to start to educate the rest of the city and get our name out like we are planning (check the Ken Broo thread) then maybe we can do something about this.
Now, let do that Hockey show! I totally want to help out! |
