1. First of all, who would like to go out and about to distribute flyers and such?

2. We have approval from the team to print what we want...as long as we get their approval first. Just send the text to Joe Stills and approval should be granted.

3. The Cyclones have some things they can give us to hand out. No free tickets or anything, but some flyers and such. We can pick them up at the arena offices

4. What is going on this weekend? Where can we go? Who wants to go where?

I have done some dirty work, so now it's up to the rest of us to get this ball rolling.

Awesome! I'm up for doing things! Saturday I'm busy. my printers busted so i'd have to go to the arena! But I'll probably make some anyway.

The Ringling Bros Circus is at USBA all weekend.
Next weekend (March 7,8 &9) the shrine circus is at the Gardens.
There's a concert at 20th Century Theater & a basketball game at the cintas center on the 1st (this saturday.)

That would be cool if we could get some people together tomorrow before or after the circus and hand out things and spread the word, or put flyers on the cars in the parking garage. Plus there will be a lot of families there & next weekend is youth sports weekend!

Just an idea for the people in school, that would be a good place to put up flyers and spread the word!

My son and I did this back when the railraiders were trying to start up. We ran into a few problems though... check with where you want to distribute anything, some places call this solicitation (we wanted to stand at the corner of kenwood and montgomery road with some signs but were told by the township that was not allowed). We also wanted to stand outside of Krogers and hand out literature but were denied by the manager of the store (apparently girl scouts and other organizations were allowed). I talked with a police officer downtown and he told me that it was allowed on fountain square. One thing you might want to try is asking some business that get a lot of foot traffic if they would place literature around the cash registers...the placed we went to said that was allright. Another thing we did is we went to Dick's sporting goods and they let us place a yard sigc near the front door.

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

I also helped with the railraiders, but if we're not allowed to stand outside of USBA couldnt we still put some stuff on cars? I guess thats something to figure out! Too bad we couldnt get into the arena and put some flyers up, they always have flyers for other events there why not hockey!?

What I ended up doing was anywhere there was a public billboard (meijer usually has one by the entrance) I would put up something. Also anyplace that had any kind of fliers around I would put something up.

Yes..I do some work for channel 5 and they let me put some things in their lobby. I'm sure if I asked them I can put some cyclones literature there. BTW, Ken Broo and I talked the other day and he said he had a blast at saturday's game.

Fountain Square wouldn't be a bad idea. If anyone's available during the day Friday, it would be a good way to call to immediate action and say "come see the Cyclones extend their record-breaking winning streak TONIGHT". The more people who show up in the Clones jerseys and whatnot, the better. If you can do things to draw attention, that'd be nice.... just remember that you walk a thin line between legalized soliciting and needing permits.

Since it looks like the Clones are coming back next year, I'd recommend having monthly meetings over the summer and go all out for this for the 08-09 season.

Hey all, I’m new here so maybe it’s been said before but…….

If you really want to help the team, sell tickets!

http://cycloneshockey.com/fundraiser.php

Schools, scouts etc are constantly having fund raisers. Why not get them to sell Cyclones tickets?

My wife is a teacher and her 7th grade class did this earlier in the season, 22 students, and they sold about 100 tickets. It was for a Sunday game with an attendance of about 1,200 I think. So close to 10% of the attendance that night was from the fundraiser. The school choir also got to sing the national anthem.

It exposed the kids and some of their family’s to the Cyclones, I know I’ve seen at least 3 of the kids and their parents at games since then.

It’s a win win win win situation
1) Tickets get sold (at least some to people who normally wouldn’t buy)
2) The organization makes $
3) You get the kids promoting the Cyclones and Cyclones advertising hanging in the halls.
4) You’ll get at least a few return customers

I can put up some flyers outside of my work, since its a restaurant it should catch some peoples eyes.

Also, I think the promotion on the internet through like myspace and facebook that twister has going on is a good idea and that should keep going too.
