| Tonight they didnt play like they have been... They couldnt get it together. Ceddy was great most of the night with some amazing saves, but we just couldnt hang on......should have cleared the bench at the end,,,,why not? |

To all that were down there Monday night, what a treat the Cyclones gave us. First off-Reading you deserved that game for playing hard for 60 minutes and taking the action to us. As for the Cyclones-JM I love your style of play when the rest of the team knows what is going on, but you were more harm than good out there.Coach, you should have left the first and second line together and put him out there with the third line.Big problem-Reading has 2 guys 5'11" and one is the goalie. We have 9 guys 5'11" or shorter and it showed. It didn't help the refs letting them get away with way too much roughing, but that wasn't the problem.Cedrick was abused all game and no one stuck up for him.Texas, if we don't settle things down we will be watching the semis at home with you. |

Tonight, like many Cyclones fans, I was greatly disappointed in what I saw. Bags (above) said it clealy enough. The Cylones were ok in the first period......but that gave way to poor passes, lack of shots on goal and general lack of cohesiveness. I would like to add that I once thought and respected Reading a skilled team..........but that team is gone and in my opinion they are nothing more that a squad of goons and thugs. The refferee had no control what-so-ever of the game and the 'undershots' of elbows to the head, ribs and slaming the heads either to the glass or the ice was nothing more than 'goon hockey'.
I pray that on a day off at home, the guys can look at the game tapes and re-evaluate themselves and what they need to do to turn things around!! |

| Now that 3rd period stunk on ice! I hope Reading is proud of the goon job they pulled off tonight. I'm totally disgusted! |

CEDDY WAS ABUSED? By what letting the puck float between his legs and watch it hit the net like oh damn maybe I was supposed to stop that? Or was it abuse on him when he hit a REA player with his stick after the game? Because that's totally classy. Ceddy let in **** goals in the third period that he should have been able to stop whether or not his D was covering him.
I say coach puts Schmidt Head in as a forward the kid has offensive skills but never seems to suprise me with his D flaws. Looking at the damn puck while a REA player goes to shoot like he had never seen a round piece of rubber before. Put McElroy BACK in (Wasn't it a few weeks ago that Chuck was talking about needing grit on the team? Yeah... whatever happened to that.) I want lines put back together it is too late and risky to be testing chemistry, somethings bound to blow... oh wait that already happened.
These AHL guys aren't proving to be much of anything other than a mess to us right now. And I'm sorry but the JM that returned to us isn't the JM I remember having here and wanted back. If the AHL guys don't want to be here hand them some golf clubs and send them on their way. Them playing for **** isnt going to get us very far.
And lastly.... I heard Maki didn't make it bc of personal reasons?? Anyone have any word on this? |

The problem with Cedrick started in the 2nd period. The Reading goon slammed his stick into his groin resulting in the first wrestling by Cedrick. Then he gets clipped on the side of the net in the 3rd and only massive complaints brings the goalie interferance call.Yes he gave up a soft goal in the third but it was on another Reading breakaway shot.He stopped AT LEAST three sure goals through the game and cannot be blamed for losing it at the end.Weber, be the coach of the year and get the first and second lines set with players that earned and will be here and save the third line for the AHL "loans" like JM and Schmidt. All JM seemed to want to do was hit someone and thats not his game. |

Anyone who thinks Cedrick was the problem last night is blind. He kept us in the game. The first goal he should have had but it was a fluke play, he thought the puck was in his glove and it popped out. The go-ahead goal was a weird play where the puck was bouncing and the Reading player knocked it down basically on a breakaway to bury it. 90 % of the goaltenders in this league aren't going to stop a play like that. As far as the rest of the 3rd, we got too desperate to score goals and left him hanging to dry on odd man rushes and breakaways. One of the goals he even made two saves on before they put it in on a third attempt - no defense - they were on the other end playing desperate hockey. And don't even forget the glove save on the breakaway to prevent it from being tied earlier.
Sorry to seem harsh, but it really irks me when you get outshot by more than 10 SOG's, go 2/10 on the Power Play, take a plethora of stupid penalties, and the goalie who played a decent game is the one on the end ot the criticism.

| Trust me Ceddy is not the only one that I think played bad last night. Yep, the D did leave him hanging but he should have been able to stop at least two of the goals that went past him as he looked at them like, "Oops maybe I should have moved to stop that." It was frustrating watching that right in front of our seats. As far as the rest of the team goes, PATHETIC. Even our frenchies weren't playing like they normally do. If we play like this Wednesday we can kiss the Kelly Cup goodbye. And this is EXACTLY what I was afraid of. |

| We need to face facts, boys and girls.... last night's effort was pathetic! We played like crap, and we let Reading goon us around all dang night, especially in the 3rd period. I really thought that this far down the line that we had the best team in hockey and would be ready to kick butt and take the cup, and I still do think that way, but now I have to serve notice to the entire roster that in order for me to keep that opinion we need to stop letting Reading be goons and work as a team to beat them down and win this series.... lets stop focusing on the cup and focus on a way to beat Reading.... whoever emerges out of the Columbia and South Carolina series can wait.... lets focus on tomorrow night and beat Reading down and win this series! |

I'm glad there were'nt any children sitting by me at the game last night; I was swearing like a sailor! I agree that this is no time for experimentation. STICK WITH WHAT WORKED IN THE REGULAR SEASON!!!!!! I'm just glad I didn't have any Reading fans sitting by me, or I might have completely lost it! |

Yeah, I feel the game last night was a poor showing of what our team is really capable of. It seemed like they had never all played together before. That's just sad. Mixing up the lines at this point just seemed like a death wish. Seriously people, if it ain't broke, don't fix it!
The third period lasted an eternity and it was painful to watch. Reading was gooning it up pretty good and the ref was just ridiculous. I mean, how many times this year have we had to redo face-offs? There were more in this game than the rest of the regular season combined! He can sit there noticing that tiny BS but can't see Reynolds getting elbowed in the face? Criminy...
The two notable things in last night's game, besides Cedrick's pretty stellar performance given the lack of help he had, was the poor kid that got a puck to the cheek and ended up with $150 worth of hockey sticks and free ice cream, and Syro practically sitting on that Reading guy for almost an entire minute. That was pretty funny.
Hopefully the guys get their heads back in the game for Wednesday. I'll be there to hopefully witness the miraculous turn around. Although I'll probably be by myself because my group was fairly disgusted and not ready to go back to see the "impending massacre." I believe they can make it happen. Here's hoping for the Cyclones we know and love! |
What you do today can change the course of your life far into the future. Today is critical. Today really counts. |

The game without Desjardins would have been 8-2.
Very poor performance last night. Only a few players seemed to give a damn out there and the others just brought their game down.
Reading players are all over us in the offensive zone. I didn't see our team even wanting to skate hard enough to try and make something happen.
IMO, we can win this series playing more conservatively. Sit back on defense and just counter, waiting on a good break. If we keep attacking with defensemen and getting caught deep, they will score on that quick transition stuff all night long. |

| It's like my girlfriend tells me she missed the old me, and what that means is private matter.... now I am telling the Cyclones that I miss the old Cyclones, and I want them back, because it is too late for changing and revamping.... it is time for doing! If we mess this up, it is OVER! And I want to see a hockey game in June! |

i like how it was Reading who were goons when after the game Cedrick takes a cheap shot at the other guy. In m opinion nobody on the team had any right to get mad about the other team celebrating, yapping whatever. your (read: entire team) play lead directly to the outcome so you have nobody to be upset with but yourself. take a long look in the mirror and pull it together. honestly why play 70+ regular season games only to tank in the playoffs...when things really count?!
as for the penalties it does seem that there have been an abundance in the playoffs but the guys have to be able to adjust. it's part of the job and if you dont you end up a man or two down.
as for cedrick and his play i am sorry but i agree with Cait. Sure cedrick made a few good saves, especially that first breakaway, but i wouldnt say he played well. maybe he was sticked by the reading player but if you cant make the simple saves then dont screw your team..max is a capable goalie. and someone mentioned him making a few saves on one of the plays before giving up the goal. how about this if he covered it up as opposed to putting out rebounds then it's not in the net regardless of the what the dmen have done or not done.
finally, the ahlers. i want them here and on the ice only if they are giving 100%. if not sit them in the stands or send them on their way. this is not the time to half a$$ things because reading is a good team and has proved themselves quite capable. based on the way they have played they could very easily be up 3-0 in this series.
here's hoping for the regular season cyclones who didnt take crap, made crisp passes and actually had solid defense and goaltending to show up the next 3 games and end this series before things get completely out of hand! |

Exactly, exactly, exactly.
I am not meaning to point the finger and blame the loss on Ceddy, because each and every guy out there last night was responsible for it. BUT I am sooooooooooooooo sick of people kissing Ceddy's ass like he NEVER messes up. It was the same way last year, Dov took the heat for every loss that he suffered and Ceddy was always deamed the one that got screwed over somehow therefore making a ****ty game not his fault. My other thing is that if the Dmen weren't anywhere to be found (which they weren't) Cedrick should have been able to see the puck PERFECTLY and stop the damn thing. End of story.
And JO, you weren't the only one cursing like a sailor! I'm still worked up about this. I guess it just disappoints me SO BAD to know what these boys are capable of and to have watched them work so hard in the past 60 games to blow it like they are on the road to doing. It's unexcussible, and I hope Chuck and Dean stuck it to them last night and we see a HUGE turn around tomorrow night. |
