Hey everyone, I emailed Jungle Jim's just now to see if they carry Sting Ray. I saw they had Skate listed, which is similar, but I think I'd rather go for the real thing. If it's available I'll try to go get it and try the recipe for Saturday night. Here's hoping!!  |

I like the idea of throwing something onto the ice, I volunteer for the Newport Aquarium and I'm certain I have seen Stuffed stingrays in just about every size. It would be cool to organize a ray toss to the ice like they did with the rubber rats years ago in Florida.
The bigger problem here is we play at the NO FUN ARENA, I actually had to stop a security guy one game because he was trying to throw someone out that had just thrown his hat onto the ice after a hat trick. This is the same staff that had a small load of peanuts, chips and nearly everything else out in front of the doors before game 7. Many actually left the Reds game to watch hockey! Mostly Cubbie fans.
I was standing in line getting tickets when a Guy barged into line and demanded his 20.00 bucks back because the arena staff took his daughters box of MIKE and IKES. I would believe he won 't be back. His comments were , "i'm going to the reds game, They allow boxes of candy in". So this throwing something onto the ice would be a huge hit, but i'm afraid that most of the arena security might have a heartattack |

| Might have to settle for Stingrays in nooses then, or in nets. The USBA staff does have some abysmal people working there though. I love the security over by the smokers' area that yell at you if you go out a different door than the one they're working. Old men on powertrips are so cute. |

| HFH, I just left a message to the aquarium's retail store manager, Hopefully she will call me back soon but i'm hopeful that maybe she can get us a box or case of rubber stingrays or stuffed stingrays at a good price that folks could buy, or maybe she could donate? or something. We could arrange something similar to a teddy bear toss event. I'm excited! it would be great fun! |

| NO ANIMAL REMAINS!!! The team is working with the Aquarium to try the stuffed Stingray idea. I guess someone there read the idea on here. The team reads these posts!!! It might be like the Teddy Bear toss idea. After the first goal. More details to come. |

Hey 4Clones, that would be sweet. You may be able to get it at a very good price. My mom swears it'll be something crazy like $40/lb. I hope not! I still haven't gotten an email back from Jungle Jim's. I'll check at work tomorrow and if not, I'll just call them. I plan on actually going Saturday afternoon to buy it if so. I'm not sure how stinky Sting Ray would be in my fridge for an extended period and I'd rather it be fresh anyway.
The stuffed animal sting rays would be awesome. I actually have a few at home from excursions to the Ripley's Aquarium in Gatlinberg and Myrtle Beach. I'd rather not throw those out, but if I could get one for that specific purpose, it would be killer.

| It would appear from my sources at the Aquarium that any type of a stuffed stingray toss has falled through, the retail manager informed me that all she has right now are pvc stingrays that cost 5.00 apiece, I believe they have larger stuffed stingrays but I think they are in the neighboorhood of about 20.00 each, I have better things to do with 20.oo, in addition we would have to have the cooperation of the cyclones to have permission of any type of toss to the ice....so unless the clones feel that the idea is still alive, and the game is nearly at hand, I would think we need to come up with something else! |
