Never heard anything from Jungle Jim's either. I got busy at work and never got to call. I'll see what I can come up with tomorrow. Doing some research it seems that skate and shark are the closest things to real stingray. Also, I've read that stingray actually ends up tasting just like scallops. Who knew?
But I don't think they are illegal to catch, in general. I was reading an ocean fishing type forum and this guy had a crazy long post about how to catch stingray (he lives in Florida) and fillet the wings to prepare for cooking. It seems the best way to cook these things is to deep fry them though.
Oh well, if I can swing something, I'll try. If not, we'll just have to pretend, like 4Clones said.  |
