Amist these great Semifinals victories, great crowds and press coverage, I would like to give a shout-out to whatshisname at the merchandise booth and give credit where credit is due. He has been consistent getting new stuff in all year (a definite step up from last year) and I for one was very glad to buy a "Cyclones Quest for the Cup 2008" rally towel and the simply awesome Twister yellow t-shirt Friday night. They also have new black Cyclones t-shirts in (which I prefer to all of the whites and grays they usually only have) which I plan on buying. All of the playoff apparel has been great.
I plan on wearing the Twister t-shirt tommorow and proudly twirled my Cyclones Rally Towel out the window on the drive out of the USBA parking garage last night. Everyone who was waiting for the players to come out outside saw me, I know that much. |

| I would have to agree with Mark. RJ (merchandise man) has been so much easier to work with. He did the T-shirts for the Fan Club's Pucks N Pasta event. I would love to be able to buy each shirt/sweatshirt he has but the money only goes so far. |
Hockey is life. All the rest is just small stuff.

| I just bought a Cyclones Jersey from RJ and he personalized it for me and it's looks FANTASTIC!!! Great rate and awesome jersey. |

| They need to get the jerseys right. I saw one of the personalized jerseys and the letters and numbers were the wrong colors. They also need to start carrying the replica jersey's in an adult small/medium. I can't wear anything larger or I look like a freak not to mention I've seen a few fans walk away with their "tweens" who would have bought a jersey for the "tween" but since the kids sizes were too small and the adult larges too big they didn't buy anything. Talk about all the good they do, I agree but they need to do more to impress me. There are some ideas on here like the flags and stuff that would sell better than some of the other items they have. |

I've heard this a few times lately and just don't understand. Why are people worried about getting hockey jerseys that fit them like regular shirts? I mean, they're hockey jerseys... Wearing small hockey jerseys is like wearing those pink and peach colored baby-t sized Bengals jerseys. (Darn, I hate those things)
Luckily, my boyfriend has a collection of Cyclones jerseys that his parents have gotten at jersey auctions over the years since back in the days of the Gardens. I'm certainly not rich enough to have my own real jersey (hopefully next year). But I wear a game-worn jersey. Obviously they are large and in-charge, mostly making me look pregnant. LOL But I figure hell, it's a hockey game and I'm wearing a hockey jersey. I don't care how big and dumb it looks on me. Although I am pretty large for a girl, being 5'11" and 180 lbs. Those large jerseys might look a bit big on smaller girls. But I say, just roll up your sleeves and enjoy hockey!
I love most of the newer playoff t-shirts that the merchandise booth has. I just really got a good look at them on Saturday when some friends came to the game with me and wanted to buy their kids some shirts. If I had the cash I would have bought one, but I'm saving my money now for the Kelly Cup Champs shirt!  |

| Let me clarfy my point about Jerseys........I do not want one that fits like a regular shirt. I am not one of the twig sisters who buys the childrens jerseys. I am just wanting another one that fits a little baggy but doesn't come my knees. I bought two back in 07 in red and white that were adult S/M. I don't wear my game worn jerseys since they are soooo big that I could fit two of me in them. I prefer jerseys that at least look proportionate to my size. I wear them regularly to other places too like work on Fridays in a professional job setting so I need them to look decent and not like a tent on me. Sorry about my rant but some people just don't get my point, that the merchandise people need to carry enough merchandise in a variety of sizes. Oh, and I cannot stand those silly a$$ pink little Bengals jerseys or even the Cincinnati Reds ones like them either. |

I understand about the jerseys. I try to wear them to work on game days and I really do end up feeling a bit "frumpy." LOL And I do get that weird eye and the question, "So, is there any "change" in your condition?" WTF? No! I just love hockey! LOL  |

| I don't see how they would mess up on the lettering and numbers on the jerseys since the same person that does it for the booth is the same person that does it for the team I have seen a few ppl walking around with the wrong colored numbers on their jersey(one being my friend 4clones) but he had his done at Koch( or however you spell it)downtown and they messed it up and I also seen a few other ppl walking around with the wrong colored name and numbers but it wasn't the booth who made the mistake. I think the guys that run the booth now are a lot better then the ones we had. They keep things in stock as much as they can. they can't help the number of things they sell. I know when the red jersey came in they flew out as soon as they got them in. they couldn't order enough of them. Sorry for the long post I will end it now with a big GO CLONES and GREAT JOB RJ KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK. |

| And one more thing for Hockeytchr, if it was you running the booth and had to spend YOUR MONEY would you buy a bunch of something that you don't know will sell? or would you say the hell with it I will buy X amount of this and if it doesn't sell oh well? OF course not you would just buy a few see how it sells and then order more if needed. They are there to make money not lose money. And as I see it more adults buy jerseys for themselves then for their young kids. so they are going to have more of the bigger size then the smaller size. It's what sells more. |

Yes I got my at Kochs sporting good. I was kinda disappointed at first but now I like it. I like the lettering and it fits the jersey well. Next year Im likely getting a new jersey and if I dont buy a game used I will have them do it at the game. |

| Once again, there is a problem with the responses to the post. I do know that the pink jerseys they were selling were ordered in all sizes and they sold. So my point is what's wrong with ordering a few of the black jerseys in the smaller sizes???? I know that I would buy one or two. THere are also people who I have talked too on numerous occasions while at the merchandise booth inquiring about the small/medium jerseys for their two teenage sons who need a smaller size much like myself. I am not saying that I do not talk to these people about this issue. It just seems to me that if they can order the pink jerseys in all sizes and spend a fortune on those and not spend a little cash on something more traditional thats kinda crappy. I know that things like jerseys have to be ordered in a certain amount but I am sure that there is a small limit on what can be ordered. So my whole problem is why not order the smallest number necessary of the smaller sized jerseys and see that they will sell. Especially since the crowds are getting better and perhaps next season will bring a bigger fan base. OKay, I 've expressed my opinion enough here.......oh and Yes, I have been in the situation where the merchandise people are when ordering shirts for events, or groups so I know that this is not something that is cheap to do. SO those who cannot see my point here...........continue to bash my comments all you want.......... OH, and yes I know that Koch can't do the jersey's right. But I did see the merchandise guy hand over a red jersey with the wrong sized letters on it to a customer who paid for it. I've only skimmed your post, but if you haven't tried talking to the merch booth about this I would. I wanted a sweatshirt that they were sold out of and I asked him if he would be able to order more and he did very quickly. When I mentioned it to him he said he had a lot of requests for that specific sweatshirt, so again.. it's a factor of supply and demand. I agree that they should carry a variety of sizes in each jerse option, but my guess on the pink jerseys is that they thought GIRLS would by those so they targetted the normally smaller audience with smaller sizes in those. |
