Anyone else scared by our goaltending situation?
Trukker hasn't exactly looked stellar in his first three games. I'm not sure we're going to be able to score five goals every game this season to pull out a 5-4 win.
Why can't Randy seem to control his rebounds??? |

not to be such a critic, and understanding a guy can have a bad game or two, but i agree in most ways. he doesn't look very promising so far. from what i can tell by seeing the team, the forecheck is great, the defense was certainly there against peoria. we had the game in the bag. theres going to be a slip up on defense everyonce in awhile, but gotta make some saves. hoping the goaltending can get it in gear, or i'm assuring nick parillo will have a 2-3 goal night wednesday for Toledo.

| I have to agree. Randy is just not that good of a goalie. He scares the beejeebers out of me every time I see him in net. Unfortunately that's probably why he's here in the ECHL. I would rather have had Carolina assign Aurturs Irbe than Petruk. Oh well. Maybe he'll get better with time, or maybe Trevor will get some playing time this weekend. |

I have to agree also. Trucker has not impressed me so far. I hope its just early season butterflys or whatever but he just doesnt look comfortable about there on the ice.
Is Prior still on the team?? Dan Masters started Sunday. Maybe just maybe Columbus Stars will cut Hewy and we can resign him. Not wishing anything bad on Greg though...would be nice to see him back in a Cyclones Jersey. |

| IMO, Randy has always had this problem of controlling his rebounds. He was like this when he was here the first time a couple of years ago. He can move with the best of them, and get up quicker than any goaltender I can recall. I would not have a problem with not controlling the rebounds, if that when it happens, the rebounds don't go 4 feet infront of the net, right in the slot. Maybe if they went towards the boards or was deflected behind the net it would be better. I know that every rebound is different and depends on the shotting angle, the velocity of the shot and height, just try be a vacuum cleaner instead of a rubber wall. |

It's not just the rebounds that bother me. It was the three soft goals he left in Friday night. I don't know if he's injured or if he's just trying to get acclimated to a new team or what but something needs to be done to make him the ECHL goalie he used to be.
Here's hoping he gets better. Otherwise, it's going to be a loooooooooooooooooooooong season. |

| Geez folks.....let's give them a chance. They have only played 3 games. Randy was involved in 2 of them. One was a loss and one was a win. He didn't play on Sunday in the 6-1 loss. I do have to admit that Randy has a history of being a hot and cold goalie. Was it just me or did the team look pretty good on Friday night? What about the speed? Much faster than last year. Much more hitting also. I'm not talking about fighting. I'm talking about the hitting during the game. Also, don't forget this team has not been playing long due to the strike. With this kind of talk already in the season, you're going to make it a long season. Hey, just my 2 cents. |
