The boxscore list 2672. Looked like a lot more than that!

Alot more. Our section was almost full. We brought our son and we couldn't sit in our normal seats because we couldn't find 3 in a row!

Couldn't make it to the game Saturday but sent a guy from work with
his wife. My wife and I were at Peoria Friday night and the Cyclones
were sad. The injury bug is killing us because all we did was keep
passing until someone turned it over. Randy was a little better and
to his defense had almost no help. At the end of the game Peoria
scored goal number 4 and they do a count off like Dayton does. When
they reached 4, I stood up and yelled ONE for our lone goal and got
a great laugh from the fans.By the way, the announced crowd was
5000 fans.This must include players,coaches, police,ushers, ticket
takers, food vendors and bobbleheads being sold at the souvenir booth.
My estimation would be 3500 tops.Somebody needs to find out what gives
with the count at our place. If a fan is inside, free ticket or not, they
should be counted.

i agree with the last post. free ticket or not, count it - its attendence!

little off topic, but i went to the Columbus Stars game tonight... couldn't have been more than 400 people, it was sad. we got a wave from Cameron (noticing the jerseys) and also after the game, leaving the lockeroom, Noga and Hewitt stopped and talked to us for a little bit. both asking how the team was doing and what not. they were really nice and seemed happy to know we made the trip to check 'em out. said we should come up more often - probably due to the fact they don't have any fans!

i don't see how a league that only has that many fans seeing a game seems to be in no risk of folding, when you have a couple teams each year in the ECHL folding or barely making it. makes no sense to me at all. [size=2]

Lexington, Richmond and Little Rock had ownership problems and that's why they shut down. It's gone virtually unnoticed, by the Cyclones have actually folded several times in the 14 years only to have new ownership come in and revive the name and logo. If I remember correctly, this is really the Louisville team that moved.

The Stars have the unenviable position of being in the same town with a major university and an NHL team. St. Louis gets away with it because there are 2.3 million people and it's hard to get a ticket to a Blues game, so many suburbians head across the Missouri River and support the River Otters (UHL) - even during Cardinals' and Rams' home games.

That's what's so sad about here - 2+ million people and we can't get enough people to support one team, much less two.
