In this town, if you dont advertise and appear to be the HOT thing to go see, people just dont leave the house. Why dosnt the team buy some commercials to remind people that we have a hockey team in town? Itd get the Clones on tv, itll take 1 or hopefully more spots away from allgoodhomes and having to hear Elicia shriek "ONLY 99 DOLLARS A MONTH........ONLY 99 DOLLARS A MONTH......ONLY 99 DOLLARS A MONTH"

It costs 1,500 to put a advertisment wrap around a metro bus for a month. Wouldnt it be cool seeing acouple of Metros all decked out advertising our Cyclones and tickets just $10.00

Just putting a ad in Reach magazine every month isnt cutting it.

we all know the team could promote a little better and there are lot's of great idea's out there but the one thing holding them back is money. advertising costs money and a lot of it, especially if there is now way to track the return.

i personally like the reach ads. it goes out to damn near every home in the tri-state and i know far more people that flip through it than throw it away. i have seen billboards for the family 4-pack plan and i think that could help a lot more than flashing a bobble head up on the screen. i think the tv ads could play at better times. as was stated they can usually only be found during jacket's games. why not try them during a UC or Xavier basketball game; especially to advertise the cheap beer games.

i do have to take issue with the metro idea though. i've been running down town for years and been stuck behind metro's in traffic and for the life of me i can't remember a single advertisement from one, so that might not be the best use of 1500 from the ad budget...but maybe that's just me.

They listed in "Smart Circle" last year which I bought. It had a lot of options, such as buy-one-get one and a discount on a luxury suite. There may be some issues with that company though and it must not have been much of a return on the teams investment since they didn't go back to it.

...And on the eighth day, GOD created the Cyclones!

The ads in Reach, commercials during CBJ games, and electronic billboards downtown are about all they have. Like elvis, I really like the Reach ads, because everyone gets on whether they like it or not. As for the Blue Jackets games, like said, 90 % of the people tuned in are probably are already aware of the team, but there is a small chance it could draw some wanderers as well. I never watch local TV so I don't know if there are still commercials on there ... that is always a must in my opinion for big promotional nights.

The ads in Reach magazine are not exactly the most eyecatching ads and easily glanced over. The owner and gm of wbqc/wkrp tv told me back in the summer when i asked if the station could air Cyclone games maybe on a 1 night delay like Time Warner did in the early 90s when the Cyclones were at the Gardens that YES he would be interested and would love to air games.

The Cincinnati Zoo Great White Shark wrap around the Metros stuck out in my mind but yea any other advertisment hasnt caught my eye. If u had acouple of bus's cruising around busy areas such as Northside and Western Hills people would wonder if they are the team bus. Ive seen acouple of bus's in Lexington Ky and thought for a minute that must be the UK bus then relized its just a metro

I think the best PR for me is walking around with Cyclones gear on. I always get asked how the team is doing and tell people to go to games.

granted, I haven't been to a game in a while due to some personal reasons, but that is one way we can do our share.

Did u get asked if we still had a team during last season when we was blowing everyone away? Even now ive had people tell me they havnt been to a Clones game since they left the Gardens. There is alot of finger pointers like hrc666 that dosnt want to hear or think that the team isnt doing very good "off the ice" fan wise, they can call people names, tell people they shouldnt bother going to the games if they were old garden clone/duck fans. I get banged on for showing some light on a "dark" subject they dont want to hear about but everyone needs to stop marking territorys and unit for the common good for showing support.

How about the marketing gurus at USBA, Obama bobbleheads?huh? are you kidding me, maybe if u can get him to attend a game but come on. Give the kids taking marketing 101 at UC/Cin State a chance to do better promotions then what theyve come up with. If you send a email down to USBA you dont get any replys back, I dont think they give 2 cents on what anyone has to say.

I think what helps is the ability to advertise for free, say facebook and myspace. I think this is a smart move to get a few extra people to the games and it doesn't cost anything. That, and sending event notices to people about the promotions helps people plan ahead to go to the game.

That's one of the smartest ways to get the college crowd in my opinion, especially on dollar beer nights.

whats next the tyco beanie baby twisters. Hey thats an idea. You either have Obama at the USBA or dont even bother. Why not have Americas favorite anchor lady, Katy Cupcake Kuric? shes relevant? or a Nancy Grace fridge magnet

FWIW, I saw a Cyclones ad on Channel 12's morning newscast during the 6 AM hour this morning. The ad mentioned this weekend's promotions (Auto Bailout Night and $1 hot dogs)... Just sayin'..
