I was looking at the box score of the Friday January 23rd Ducks home game. I noticed one of the linesman was none other than Matt Dunne. Now isn't he the General Manager of the Cyclones who played a home game that very same night? What kind of message does that send to your staff and fans? Instead of working at my full time job, I'd rather work my part time job at the competition. Sad. Very sad.

Clawd,

Because of the staff changes we have made, things run very smoothly without having the entire staff forced to stay for every game. Everyone works together very well and we need fewer people to make it all happen. I know that you were trying to make all the season ticket holders aware that Matt works the Ducks games, but Matt has never tried to hide it from them. The fact is, Matt has made it a fun topic conversation in both of the meetings that he has had with the season ticket holders. I don't see where the conflict of interest comes into play, in fact it just seems to be sour grapes on your part!!!

When talking "conflict of interest", maybe the Ducks should be
worried about a rival Cyclone not giving THEM the breaks!

What Clawd's trying to point out is that Dunne worked a Ducks game Friday night. Y'know, the same night the 'clones were playing Toledo.

You are exactly right Gonz. It's not "sour grapes" as you say. It's just if I was GM of a team with the worst attendance in the league, I'd put my energy into being at my own teams game and not working a part time job at the competition when they have games ON THE SAME NIGHT.

But would having Matt Dunne in the arena make a difference on the attendance? I mean, it hasn't so far.

No Gonz, it wouldn't have. But you see leadership flows from the top down. If the GM of your team, is working for the competition on the same night that you have a home game, what message does that send to your staff and season ticket holders? To me, is shows lack of character and caring. But you know, who really cares. You see the state of the team. Make your own decisions. I just have "sour grapes".

Actually, the GM of the team is Cichocki. That's why he can trade players left & right & up & down.

Dunne's the VP/GM of the arena. But it still the same idea. We don't see Jerry Robinson in the Bank working as a goal judge when the Ducks are in town.

Or ever... really, if you think about it.

Millsie - MAKE A NOTE OF THAT!!

Get Jerry in for Wednesday!

It's kinda ironic, my friend who is an off-ice official for the quackers told me that the other Ducks' officials that work both Cyclones & their games were forced to choose which team to work for - Mighty management would not tolerate them doing both anymore.

Another giant who cares. As long as he's not over there in a Duck outfit selling tickets I could care less if he's a linesman at the Gardens. He can come ref my rec league hockey games if he wants, i'm sure it helps him pay the bills and is a good workout. If he gravytrains it into a position with the Ducks in the future then maybe he could be criticized for it, but him being at the 'Clones game is pretty much useless at this point unless he's buying tickets and spending a lot on concessions at every game. I don't know if he's there or not because I have no idea who the hell he is in the first place.
