What do you think the future looks like for Hockey in the fall? Not just with the Cyclones, but everywhere? It looks like the NHL could be on a lockout for next season. Would that affect any teams with an affiliation? Will there be hockey in the gardens if there is no NHL playing? Will that make for an opportune time for the WHA to move in? According to their website, they do have a team in Cincinnati (www.worldhockeyassociation.net, or call 1-800-655-5148).

The WHA is NOT coming here. They have no arena to play in, and as of now only have five months to field a team, find a place to play, and market themselves. The old ECHL Clones may have thought they could do marketing in three weeks, but a WHA team with a ten million dollar payroll, can't afford to be that naive.

Also, Dave Andrews the AHL commissioner promises that there will be an AHL season next year, no matter what happens with the NHL lockout.

That being said, nobody knows what players on NHL two way contracts will do, when the time comes. They'll be under pressure to play, but remember these guys hope to play in the NHL soon, and I doubt the current players will be too welcoming to guys that scabbed them out.
