The American Hockey League's Board of Governors has approved the sale of the franchise owned by Capital District Sports Inc. to Michael Kahn, and the relocation of the franchise from Albany, N.Y., to Charlotte, N.C., to begin play there in the fall of 2010. The franchise has signed a new affiliation agreement with the Carolina Hurricanes of the National Hockey League.

What is going to happen to the Charlotte ECHL franchise? I heard a rumor that it is being sold to someone in San Diego.
BTW, love the Whoville pic. |
What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

| If the Charlotte franchise is sold to San Diego than it can still be equal in the South with the almost certain readmission of the Columbia Inferno next season |

| The Charlotte franchise will be sold and relocated, possibly to San Diego. Former ECHL markets Greenville, Greensboro and Roanoke have also been mentioned. The Hurricanes would like to have an ECHL affiliate in Greensboro but there's still some bad blood there from when they knocked the AHL Carolina Monarchs out of their lease at the Greensboro Coliseum. |

| If Johnstown and Wheeling are among the up to six teams that don't return to the ECHL next season, the Cyclones travel bill is going to skyrocket unless they play Kalamazoo and Toledo 60 times. |

Seems like they already do. Tonight was the fifth or sixth time I saw the clones take on K-Zoo at the Bank Arena this season. |

I'd be interested to see if you have a clue.
I only had access to the travel budget and season-ending expenses with four different teams in three different professional hockey leagues, so I wouldn't have as much insight into what the Cyclones travel bill is for this season as say someone that has spent their entire adult life trying to make a living playing the horses, so why even throw it out there as I wouldn't have a clue. IF Greenville (franchise could come from Charlotte/Columbia/expansion) comes back losing Jtown wouldn't hurt the budget that much because the distance and cost of hotels are roughly equal.
IF the IHL collapses, Fort Wayne would probably come to the E. So that would more than offset the loss of Wheeling (closer teams for FTW thinking about two game roadtrips).

Hopefully Johnstown finds a way to keep it going. They're the last of the original ECHL teams.
The Wheeling franchise was originally known as the Cincinnati Firebirds. They were set to play at the Gardens in 1981-82 but within a matter of days of the team being announced (and season tickets sold), the Toronto Maple Leafs announced they were putting their top farm club in Cincinnati at the then-Riverfront Coliseum with the Central Hockey League's Cincinnati Tigers. The Gardens and owner of the Firebirds quickly decided it wasn't wise to try and compete against a Maple Leafs owned and operated team, and the franchise was relocated to Winston-Salem, NC as the Carolina Thunderbirds. When the ACHL evolved into the ECHL, the name was changed to the Winston-Salem Thunderbirds. The franchise took on the Nailers nickname after its relocation from Winston-Salem to Wheeling.
The only way Fort Wayne becomes a member of the ECHL is with new owners there. Won't happen with the Franke's. |

The only part-time job I've ever had was as a novelty vendor at Riverfront Stadium for the Reds and Bengals games from 1980-1982. Knock yourself out taking your shots if it helps to make you feel better about yourself, but at least try and get your facts straight.
What you do is as much of an art as it is a science. Every race is a different puzzle. Very few people can do what you do successfully. Guess that's what makes you so special. |

I would have to look at the Cyclones road schedule before I could "throw something out there." Not worth my time just to prove you wrong again. But, if the Cyclones play on a night when ESPN or Glee isn't on TV, I'll go to the game and put a pencil to it during an intermission and acquiese to your request and provide you with the number.

| Speak of jobs, how are the horse racing winnings going for you? You HAVE been filing your taxes correctly over the past 20 years, right? You know, just in case the IRS finds out... |

You question my level of education and then go as low as calling me "tard boy?"
Is that going to be your defense if you go before a federal judge for tax evasion? |

| I'm sorry I got into it with you, Joe. I really wish you would have made better decisions when you were my age. You really could have been somebody. |
