Former Cincinnati Mighty Ducks center Jason Krog has become the 79th player in AHL history to reach 500 career points, scoring a goal in Chicago's game at Texas tonight. Krog, who spent part of the 2002-03 season in Cincinnati, is a former AHL MVP, scoring champion and Calder Cup champion.

| According to you, hitting milestones like this simply means the person isnt good enough to stick at the next level. |

Krog played 202 NHL games in his career. He also played for a few years in Europe. Krog made it to the NHL, and for stuck there for a few seasons. |

| Donnie--I don't know you but find that after a year of reading your teachings and observations I have to ask why the hell you post here? This post is a perfect example--how many people on here really care about Jason Krog??. This is a site for Cyclone fans and I for one am tired of your postings about things having nothing to do with the current Cyclones and getting into ....ing contests about ex cyclones with others. I never see any posts from you about current players or games. Can you tell me how many games you attend a year and what type of season ticket plan you have? I am sure you go to a lot to watch Dwayne Zinger of your beloved Ducks perform. By the way--have you noticed that the Cyclones are unbeaten since Zinger has been on the IR?? I would rag on him on the Ducks site but I can't seem to find one. You should start one and let all your followers follow you there. PLEASE let Cyclone fans enjoy this site and its team. All of us know the level of hockey we are watching but they deliver a lot to us who enjoy them. We don't need you trying to show us how stupid we are for supporting the team or educating us on the greater hockey world. |

I care about Jason Krog. Hockey Talk - General Chatter. Doesn't say Hockey Talk - General Chatter But Only Cyclones Talk And Only Good Things About Them. |

@dbc While the over all theme of the site is for promoting the Cyclones, this topic was put in the "Hockey Talk - General Chatter" so no harm done.
I do find it interesting that after Barret set the current franchise record for points Donnie was quick to belittle it by stating that Barret set the record because he has never played beyond the ECHL. Yet here he is posting about a player making a similar achievement. Sure, Jason Krog played in the NHL (Europe doesn't mean much, ECHL level players jump the pond too) but he is obviously back in the AHL now. His last lengthy stay in the NHL was pre-lockout. Jason is obviously a talented player but since he hasn't spent any length of time in the NHL recently the game has obviously passed him by. He should probably just retire since setting career milestones in minor league hockey mean that you've played way to long at that level.
(The previous paragraph was loaded with sarcasm FYI.)
Perhaps Jason is like Barret and he just loves playing the game for a living. Career milestones like the the one Jason set, as well as , Barret's should be commended regardless of what level of hockey it occurred at. You can't disparage one minor league achievement and then celebrate another.
Well done Jason. |

Krog played all of 9 games in Cincinnati.

If he were asked to list the teams for which he's played, there's a very good chance that he'd not even remember his three glorious weeks in Cincinnati.
Interestingly, he'd played in less than 30 of the 200+ NHL career games that he'd ultimately go on to play despite being 27 years old at the time of his extremely brief stint in Cincy.

| Good thing there's hockeydb.com; otherwise hrc666 wouldn't know anything about a player's background. |

Well done Jason.
I agree. It's great these guys get to do something they love for a living. Congrats to Jason. And Barret too. |

| I agree,HT, it's nice to also see that Barret is settling down in the area & getting married. It's cool that he likes the area enough to potentially call it home for some time. He has a chance to really make a name for himself in local sports for years to come. |
