Hey REVVED,
Tell him thanks -but NO THANKS!!! I just look at the sweet deal
the Las Vegas team has at the Orleans Casino. I still would like to
see the Argosy build a 7,000 seat arena and bring the ECHL rights there.
I would guess at least 300 out of every 1000 fans at the game will eat
or gamble that night. The Argosy could eat a 3000 fan night if 900 of
those fans will drop money into their laps with gambling or eating.The
west siders have always been strong with the Clones.
I say AHL,ECHL or maybe the UHL/CHL but no other league should even be
considered. |

Was down at the Marshals game last night and two different ushers
told me there is talk of hockey next year at the arena.Don't know
if they meant fall 2005 or fall 2006 or what league,but at least
something might be in the wind. By the way, the Marshals will probably
be another one year wonder, but at least the mood in the arena is
lively like the old Garden's days. The music is loud and upbeat, the
annoncer can be understood and earlier in the season the cheerleaders
were easy on the eyes(sorry ladies but us guys like that)!The only
thing I hope REVVED is that it's not the CPHL they were talking about. |

| USBA has been whispering still they will have the AHL franchise for 2006-07. Nothing solid. |

Do we call them the "Cyclones" and piss off the "Ducks" fans,do we
call them "Ducks" and piss off the "Cyclone" fans, or do we just call
them "short-timers" if the same lame marketers handle this team like
they did with the Cyclones.Hate to be negative but we need a Doug K.
to run the franchise, not those that think major league prices for
minor league sports and lousy promotions will bring fans in. |

The only way that can happen is if the USBA folks buy an AHL franchise. The Robinsons ain't selling theirs and the AHL BoG wouldn't put a second team in here. |

Great point Gonzoid.It would have been fun if the AHL/IHL merger could
have given us one year with both teams in the AHL. If the owners and
league worked it out where the only overlap days were the Ducks/Cyclones
head to head, I think they both could have exsisted together.Now we're
just another lame-duck town with franchise rights but no teams to play
the games.
Still hoping for some Cyclone-ECHL level games. |
