Cyclones assistant coach Dean Stork is the first choice to become head coach of the International Hockey League's Dayton Gems.

Why bring this up at this time in the playoffs. Pretty lame timing in my book. How about waiting till the playoffs end in one week ! |

It would make perfect sense for Stork to be on some short lists for IHL or SPHL head coaching jobs. Duh.
Thanks though.

Where'd you hear this? Gems site says they will make a head coach announcement June 1, but I couldn't find any articles or fan forum stuff about Storkie or any other prospects.
I believe Weber and Stork are a team and wherever Weber goes so goes Stork at this point, but opportunity can always change that. Stork kinda referred to staying with Weber during the recent Fuhrman appearance. |

Couldn't have said it better. Just like his WLWT posting of where the Cyclones stand compared to the Reds and Bungles. Anything to stir the pot.
Some people just can't stand the success of the Cyclones no matter what they say. |

Just when we thought he was gone, Donnie once again tries to suck the wind out of success. Can't make himself talk about what positive things the team has done in the playoffs. You coming to these 2-3 games to cheer the team on Donnie? |

Is it really that far fetched? Personally, I would prefer Dean get some experience in building a team as a head coach before becoming our head coach. You see it in college sports all the time; an assistant at a big school takes a job at a smaller school and eventually makes his way back to the big time.
How about this scenario? In the event that Chuck does not move up the ladder this summer (it's not a given folks), why not have Dwayne Zinger move into the assistants roll here while Dean goes and hones his head coaching skills in Dayton. Then, when Chuck does make the move up Dean could return as head coach with Zinger as the assistant.
There are far too many scenario's to discuss regarding minor league coaching. 1st, the NHL situations need to get sorted out. Once the NHL has pilfered the AHL coaching staffs, the GM's will start to fill those positions, most likely from the ECHL, major juniors, a few former players and even perhaps the odd IHL and CHL coach.
Columbus has interest in Hamilton's Guy Boucher and Columbus beat writer Aaron Portzline tweeted that indications out of MTL were that they would not hold Boucher back from being interviewed when the "time was right." The Bulldogs are poised to keep their playoff run going and it's hard to say how long Columbus will wait. But if Boucher does go to Columbus, it is safe to say that after being interviewed for the job last summer, Chuck will get another look from MTL. Should that pan out, one would have to assume that Dean would be a "short list" candidate for the Cincy job. Again, it's all speculation at this point and there is no use in worrying about it now. We still have 2 more wins to concentrate on.
My issue with Donnie's post is that he is stating it as fact without citing a source. I guess maybe he took a giant turd last night and it told him this info. |

Sorry if I missed something, but whatever happened to Dwayne Zinger? And what do you think would actually be considered a better job? An assistant coach with a successful ECHL team, or a head coaching position with an IHL team? |

I posted the information about a poll so Cyclones fans were aware of it and could vote to move the Cyclones up on the list, as some immediately did. If I wanted to "suck the wind out of success" I wouldn't have posted it until the poll was closed and the Cyclones were locked in at the bottom. Am I surprised a Cyclones fan would look at my post and not be smart enough to figure out what the reason for it was? Nope!
And no, I'm not coming to games three, four and if necessary five. I have better and more important things to do such as watching my daughter's final performance tonight as a member of Fairfield's Rhythm Express Show Choir, who were crowned National Champions a few weeks ago at a competition in Nashville. |

Dwayne was playing injured most of the Season and finally had surgery. I'm not sure if he has a desire to coach but I recall Chuck saying at a Coach's Show that he had Dwayne looking a film of college players he was considering signing late in the Season.
As far as what would be a better job. I think the only way for a coach to know if he's ready to be a head coach is to go out an be a head coach regardless of the League. |

DH Congrats to your daughter and the choir she is a part of! Deffinitly quite an accomplishment!! Having been part of a HS choir (lol way long ago) I know what kind of competition that can be.
And as far as your original post I do thank you for letting the fans know. But I am sorry to say.....considering your reccord here, can you deny that you are not looked on with favor?? |

Know what I heard? I heard there is a retirement community in Florida negotiating to buy the Chiefs. |
What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
