The clock is ticking on the IHL. Sounds like it's almost a given that the Komets will be in the ECHL next season. Also, the concept of a united AA hockey scenario is being discussed-a scenario which would necessarily result in the merger of the CHL and the ECHL.
On a side note, the interviewer's lips were kissing Franke's behind the whole interview. It's beyond farcical that anyone could even suggest that "the IHL would acommodate some ECHL teams", as this clown did.
The only way the IHL returns is if the Frankes don't agree to ECHL terms and they decide to support the money pit in Flint again. No one with an IQ of room temperature and a blood alcohol content below .20 would operate Flint.
Franke also threw his fellow IHL teams under the bus with his misleading statement that any agreement would be "in the interests of each individual team and their fans". The non-mention of the AHL was fairly telling as well. No way do the Frankes want to match their cost structure with their revenues. Far too little profit in that  |
