http://cincinnaticommandos.com/ If anyone reads this in the next few hours, the Cincinnati Cmommandos indoor football is playing the championship game tonight at 8PM at the Gardens. With one championship game already this year, we figure to go out and maybe see another one tonight! Any championship at any level is still a great achievement. |

I'm going. I will be in section 21 (didn't think about it, maybe I should have got them in 60).
I sent an email to the Commandos earlier this week suggesting that they invite the Cyclones out with the cup. I didn't hear anything from them. |

Two championships seen in one year. Only problem with last night is what the players and fans had to sit through- a steam bath !!! Hey Gardens, if you can't afford AC at least get about 10 big fans and set them up around the arena. The one in each corner was a joke. All game long the most exciting play was the Commandos extra points. How can you be in a championship with one part of your game with so much problems- oh wait- we won a championship with no power play ! |

Congrats cMan to you and the team. It was a great game last night and hopefully we will see a great team next year. The attendance was a little disappointing - I heard a little over 2700 but it looked like less. Your right bags, it was definitely a steam bath - I would have at least thought that the place would have a big attic fan to force the air out.
I still love how the Gardens has the old hockey memorabilia from the bar with the hockey pucks to the Ducks shots on goal signs and the Mohawks, Swords, Cyclones, and Ducks banners. I really need to take my camera next time to capture that stuff! |

No AC. Wow. So it's unfit to house a hockey team which goes deep into the playoffs.
The Gardens is what it is. An antiquated facility fit for oddball sports, high school hockey, gun shows and hindu fests. A building with a lot of history but no future save for low tier events.
Nonetheless, the steam bath doesn't detract from the Championship. I enjoyed the one Commandos game which I saw earlier in the season. I also enjoy going to the Gardens as I've been going there for almost 40 years now. It's too bad the owners are too cheap/broke to AC the place.
Congrats to CMan for being part of a Championship season! |

Jim Smith the owner of the Commandos made comments that they will not be in the CIFL next year but will be in a "higher league". The biggest leagues are the AFL, IFL, and AIFA. I'm sure it won't be the start-up league, UIFL which will have a team in Northern Kentucky (although that would be cool). It will be interesting to see what happens. |

1. Don't believe a damn thing Jim Smith says 2. The AC I don't think will ever be fixed |

Well it's fine for hockey if it gets into warmer weather because of the ice - keeps it cool enough then. They moved roller girls home bouts to earlier spring, maybe the Commandos will adjust their schedule or they'll be able to do something to keep it cooler. I doubt they expected their inaugural year to have the season they did, much less postseason games & championship.
I think what you're talking about w/all the pucks is the 'Ice Bar'. If you haven't seen it and they have it open sometime, you'd probably like the Legends Museum. Lots of memorabilia there, incl. from the Cyclones days there. |

All from what i know we will be switching leagues, but that about all I know... and it depends on the next league's scheduling whether or not we play in more steam baths |
