Cyclones and 96 Rock to host Chuck Weber Sendoff Party

CINCINNATI, Ohio The Cincinnati Cyclones, proud ECHL affiliate of the Florida Panthers, and Cincinnati's Pure Rock, 96 Rock announced today that they will host a sendoff party for former head coach Chuck Weber. The event will be held at Star Lanes in Newport on the Levee next Thursday, August 12 at 6:00pm. Cyclones puckheads and 96ROCKHEADS alike will toast the man that made the Kelly Cup a household name in Cincinnati, beginning in 2008.

Weber spent four seasons behind the Cincinnati bench, becoming the most successful coach in franchise history. He led the Cyclones to a 177-92-19 record (.648 winning percentage), won two Kelly Cup Championships, two North Division titles (2008 and 2009), a Brabham Cup (leagues best record) and earned three consecutive trips to the American Conference Finals (2008, 2009 and 2010). He accepted the head coaching position with the Rochester Americans (AHL affiliate of Florida Panthers) on July 27.

Star Lanes, located at Newport on the Levee, is a boutique bowling experience that features bowling, billiards and a high-energy bar and lounge. They offer a full menu, private party room, lounge areas, patio, DJ booth and customizable AV systems. Star Lanes is located at 1 Levee Way, Newport Kentucky (next to Brio). For more information about parties and promotions visit www.starlaneslevee.com.

The defending Kelly Cup Champion Cyclones open their home schedule on Saturday, October 30 at U.S. Bank Arena against the Wheeling Nailers. Discounted ticket packages for the 2010-11 season are available now. For more information, call 513.421.PUCK (7825) extension 3 or visit CyclonesHockey.com.

Great idea.

Hopefully there will be a lot of people there to give Weber the Champion's sendoff that he richly deserves.

I seriously doubt that they would do that. This is for Chuck & the fans; not the new coach & fans.

Hockey is life. All the rest is just small stuff.

Not to change the subject, but Susan I just noticed your signature. Didn't the Reds win the World Series in 1990? Isn't that within the last 20 years?

It just seems like an eternity.

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

ZINGER!!!!!

Completely agree, very well deserved.

Never got to see the Kelly Cup in person, missed the final game due to work. I think TwoMinutes and I are gonna try to make it out. Wonder if he'll sign my Stingers jersey?

Just an FYI Gordon, I believe the Kelly Cup is on display at the Cyclones office at US Bank Arena. Just stop in at reception.

Cycfan, thanks for the heads up. I appreciate it. I have a buddy coming home from Oklahoma City, originally from Cincinnati, this coming weekend, I'll have to take him by to see it.

It was brought to my attention that Star Lanes has a Dress Code. So I contacted Nick Brunker, and he contacted Star Lanes. From what he found out, they will not be enforcing their Dress Code as strictly as mentioned on their website. Jersey's and hats will be permitted... as will shorts and a t-shirt.
