Yes interesting. Read the article and it states...
Sports Plus in Evendale, Ohio is a state of the art family-friendly sports, dining and entertainment facility. The facility includes two ice rinks, and arcade, pro shop, and cafe.
Okay the cafe is really pizza hut and the pro shop is going out of buisness.
What ages play in this league. Does anyone know anything about it? |

Based on the wiki it states that All American Hockey League teams have affiliations with the either the CHL (higher affiliate) or the ECHL (higher affiliate).
Storm? Cyclones? Any connection or did they come up with a similar name to play off of someone's success? |

| These will be paid players - I've heard it described as a glorified beer/mens league, but I've never seen a game. They will be older players than the Steam, many who played some level of college (mostly DIII I'd suspect). |

| Evansville had a team in this league last year. It is an awfully ran league with teams folding mid season games cancelled etc. I don't think the hockey is even on par with the SPHL, but still calls itself single A. If we use baseball terminology I would say it was more like rookie ball. There is a team in Battle Creek, MI, Muskeogon, MI area, Madison Wi, Chicago, and now Cincinnati. Check out how they spell Cincinnati on their website. LOL |

I saw the Evansville team play Dayton in a pre season game last year. It wasn't pretty. Dayton won 9-1 and Evansville had less than 10 shots on goal.
Every so often, a Chris Ferazzoli plays in this type of sub A level league, but most of the players aren't of legitimate professional caliber.
It amazes me that someone is willing to probably lose six figures to own this level of hockey team. Something about a fool will be parted from his money comes to mind..... |

| I just did a quick check on Hockeydb, and I might have played against some of these guys in college (ACHA D3). This isn't A level, I don't even think it's rookie ball level. |

Let me know when, Don. We can catch up on old times. |
What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

I wouldn't advertise this if you want the team to succeed. |

There's a press release out, it's on the team's website as well as the AAHL site. The new team has hired a coach, with previous experience w/the Bombers. The team owner/GM is from Dayton.
Noticed the address on the team website is Fake St. in Sharonville, the zip code isn't even close. Wonder why they didn't use the address for Sports Plus or something. |

The new coach, Jack Collins, won the AAHL Championship this past season as coach of the Evansville Icemen. With Evansville moving to the CHL this season, he was out of a job. He was the Bombers assistant coach under Bill MacDonald in their final season (08-09).
He seemed like a real nice guy the time or two that I talked to him. He's a solid hire for this level obviously. The concept of a subA pro team in Cincinnati is significantly south of ridiculous. Jack will be looking for yet another job sooner than later.
My over/under on the team is two months. It might be the singularly worst idea in the entire history of Cincinnati minor league sports. And that is truly saying something. |

Found out the owner used to be equipment manager for the Bombers. They've got quite a Dayton connection going. Anyway, w/the website being new, maybe whoever did it got some incorrect info. on there.
The lower minor leagues don't seem to be too stable to say the least. Sounds like the team got a coach who should be good and have an owner who's had some past involvement in hockey. Will be interesting to see how it goes.
The league is having a tryout camp and draft later in August. |

Could the league be in trouble? Last season they only had 4 teams. |
