CINCINNATI, Ohio The 2010 Kelly Cup Champion Cincinnati Cyclones, proud affiliate of the NHL's Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators, announced today that they have agreed to terms with defenseman Brian O'Hanley for the 2010-11 season.
The third-year defenseman will begin his second full season with the Cyclones. Last year, he appeared in 70 regular-season games netting 7 goals and 21 assists. In January, 2010, O'Hanley ranked third among all ECHL players with a +11 plus/minus rating. During the Kelly Cup Playoffs, he played in all 24 contests, finishing second among Cyclones defensemen with eight points (3 goals, 5 assists).
"It was a priority for us to bring back Brian," said Cyclones Head Coach Jarrod Skalde. "Because of his durability and the fact that he was a big part of last year's success, it was important that we got him back into our locker room. I'm very excited to have him in the mix for the upcoming season."
Prior to turning pro, the Quincy, Massachusetts native played collegiately at Boston College, which advanced to the National Championship in both 2006 and 2007. He was selected in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft by the San Jose Sharks in the ninth round (267th overall).
The defending Kelly Cup Champion Cyclones open their home schedule on Saturday, October 30 at U.S. Bank Arena against the Wheeling Nailers. Discounted ticket packages for the 2010-2011 season are available now. For more information, call 513.421.PUCK (7825) extension 3 or visit CyclonesHockey.com.
