Is that all of the cuts? I would have thought there would be a few more. Sorry to see Brodie go. |

With Reynolds in Rochester and Roeder about 4-6 weeks from playing ( according to him Saturday night), I think this might be about it as it leaves 7 defensemen, 10 forwards and 2 goalies. Team can dress 16 players and 2 goalies. From their past experience, the team has also carried a few players on IR. |

The roster sits at 20, 21 if/when Reynolds returns. I was a bit surprised to see 3 cuts. As dbc mentioned the team has usually floated some guys on IR. A team can have 20 active players, 1 on each 3 day IR and 7 day IR and an unlimited number on 21 day IR so many carry 23 to start the season. With Roeder potentially out for another month or so it leaves the Squad with just 6 healthy d-men, which in my opinion is a little light so I was a bit surprised to see Schroeder get cut. Bartholomay made the Team and is listed as a forward but has spent most of camp playing the blueline, so that helps out on the back end.
For those interested, I'll be updating CycWords later tonight with more of my thoughts on the cuts, roster and outlook for the season. |

There may be some more send downs coming, or its simply a financial thing. I also suspect Reynolds will be back before the end of the first week.
Sitting at the game Saturday I made a list of 5 guys I thought could potentially get cut. All of these guys were on it, so not much of a surprise.

Knew this was coming.....
Add Pat Street, G added as emergency backup goaltender
Delete Jeremy Smith, G recalled by Milwaukee (AHL)

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

From Nashville paper:Hopefully by Friday
Nashville starting goal tender Pekka Rinne did not practice Monday after sufering a lower-body injury against Anaheim on Saturday.
Bac kup goal ten der Anders Lind back, who spe lled Rinne in the third period against the Ducks, recei ved plenty of work during Mondays workout.
Coach Barry Trotz, who did not spe cify Rinnes exact injury, said the team will recall Mark Deka nich from Mil wau kee, but it could be a short stint.
Its more for pre cau tio nary, Trotz said. If he needs to bac kup, hes here. If he doesnt need to, well send him right back. Thats the plan.
Since Nash vi lle is at 22 pla yers on the ros ter, Deka nich can be brought up without any other moves.
Rinne did not have a noti cea ble limp Mon day and watched the lat ter part of prac tice from outside the rink at Cen ten nial. He said he is fee ling better.
I feel good, Rinne said. Its just one of those things. Im a little ban ged up and day to day. I feel a lot bet ter today. (On Sun day) I had a day off and it was good to get some rest and some treatment.

Does anybody know anything about Pat Street??? Is he really a goaltender or another Lee Lansdowne? Hopefully, Jeremy will be back sooner than later.

Pat Street was the goalie for Fredonia State University (D3 school) and is/was a goalie coach.

As for "is he a real goalie or another Lee Lansdowne". If they played goalie at a semi-pro/collegiate level, I would say that qualifies them as a real goalie. It may have been a subpar league/school, but Lee did play goalie for a "real" organized team.
If it got to the point where both of our designated starters were recalled/injured, I dont think it really matters who is in net at that point. Why not let Lee have a go at it? |

OK. Nothing against Lee (SORRY) I don't understand why they can't use someone who still plays currently(NOT A HAS BEEN)

So, anyone know why Lee isn't our EBUG? Is still with the Cyclones organization? I would like to see what he could of really done in a game. |

I would be willing to guess that Pat will be released as the EBUG after they leave new york. He went to school there, im assuming he still lives in the area. They will probably just pickup a local ebug at every city until Smith comes back.
Lee might be the EBUG while at home, but due to his new job cant travel with the team. |
