On the road again: For the second consecutive weekend, the Cyclones will play away from U.S. Bank Arena as they travel to Kalamazoo, Michigan to take on the Wings in a two-game series. The Cyclones were 10-4-1 against the Wings in 2009-10 with a 4-3-1 record at Wings Stadium.

About Friday Night in Elmira: The Jackals found the back of the net five times in the second period of the 2010-11 season opener en route to a 7-3 win over the Cyclones in Game 1 of a two game series. Yannick Tifu finished with a goal and three assists in the game. The Cyclones were outshot 44-16 in the contest.

About Saturday Night in Elmira: The Cyclones were able to give Jarrod Skalde his first-career ECHL win in thrilling fashion. Captain Barret Ehgoetz banked a shot off the back-side of Jackals goalie Marco Cousineau for a 5-4 overtime win. It was Ehgoetz' 12th game-winning goal as a Cyclone (2nd most in franchise
history). It also marked the first professional victory for goalie Marc Cheverie, who turned aside 33 Elmira shots.

Scouting the Wings: The Wings will open up their 2010-11 season this Friday in Toledo before welcoming in the Cyclones. Last season, Kalamazoo took home the North Division Championship with a 42-20-6-4 record and the second-most potent offense in the ECHL (273 GF in 2009-10). However, their playoff run was short-lived as they dropped their first round series with Reading, 3-2. Two of their top leading scorers from a year ago are back for another season. Forward Andrew Fournier led the Wings with 71 points in 2009-10 while former Cyclone Sam Ftorek finished third in Kalamazoo last season with 50 points.

Moving up the charts: Cyclones captain Barret Ehgoetz notched his 12th career Cyclones game-winning goal on Saturday night against Elmira - moving into sole possession of 2nd place in Cincinnati's record books for GWG. He is now just 8 goals shy of Sheldon Gorski, who has 20 career game-winning markers.
