CINCINNATI, Ohio The 2010 Kelly Cup Champion Cincinnati Cyclones, proud affiliate of the NHLs Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators, announced today that captain Barret Ehgoetz and forward Ryan Del Monte have been recalled to the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League.
Ehgoetz, the sixth-year center, made his professional debut with Rochester during the 2004-05 season, skating in just one game with the Americans. He hasnt been back to the AHL since. Cincinnatis captain owns 21 team records including the career scoring lead (235 points), games played (273), assists (152), and shorthanded goals (eight). Last night he recorded his 12th career game-winning tally in a 5-4 OT victory over Elmira. He is the only Cyclone to have played in each of Chuck Webers four seasons in Cincinnati.
Del Monte will also be making his second career trip to the AHL. In 2008-09, he appeared in five games with the Lake Erie Monsters collecting a pair of assists. In 48 career games with the Cyclones, Del Monte has posted 27 points (9 goals, 18 assists). Before the 2010-11 season began, he skated in Rochesters training camp.
The Americans are on the ice this evening against the Adirondack Phantoms at 5:05pm and Tuesday night theyll face the Hamilton Bulldogs at 7:00pm. The Cyclones, meanwhile, wont play again until Saturday when they will visit the Kalamazoo Wings in the first of a two-game weekend set.
The defending Kelly Cup Champion Cyclones open their home schedule on Saturday, October 30 at U.S. Bank Arena against the Wheeling Nailers. Discounted ticket packages and single game tickets for the 2010-2011 season are available now. For more information, call 513.421.PUCK (7825) or visit CyclonesHockey.com. |
...And on the eighth day, GOD created the Cyclones! |

So the Rochester Cyclones seems like a good team name. If Ehgoetz, Del Monte, and Reynolds stay until Tuesday against Hamilton you could have those three plus Coach Weber with Rochester, Mayer, DD, St. Denis, Russell, and Wyman for Hamilton. Talk about a game of Cyclones Alum. |

Yea, moving up is what it's all about!
Anyone heard anything about when Jeremy Smith may be returned, because it seems to me, we really need him now! |

Reynolds has a goal tonight--congrats--and the other two are dressed but no shots through 2 periods. Hope we have them back for the weekend. |

Hopefully soon. Seems Pekka Rinne is doing fine now so they sent Dekanich back to the Admirals. |
What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Having been at the games this weekend, you can't blame Friday's result on bad goaltending. I only put two of the goals on Chevy. The rest, he was hung out to dry. He needs to work the rebounds, but sometimes a goalie needs his defense to help out. I think he'll be okay (if we can keep Chucky's hands off of him).
The defense was much better Saturday outside of a couple of turnovers and one really bad PK in the 1st... Awesome job on a 2-min 5 on 3. 2 of the 3 were out there for the entire 2 mins as Eggo got to the bench with about 10-15 secs left in the kill. For the most part the PK did a good decent job.
Offensively, they were better on Saturday as well. The PP should not be a concern as they were aggressive yet patient while taking quality shots. They need some more work on getting into/staying in the zone but they'll settle down as they start to gel.
As is typically the case, when you win the puck battles, you'll probably win the game. Friday we lost most of those battles Saturday we won the most important one with 40 secs left in OT. So, while the first game wasn't exactly what any of us wanted to see, we got a split on the weekend which is about all you can reasonably expect (I think the saying is to play .500 on the road and .750 at home).
The 'Clones are much more agressive than they have been. They have good size and are not affraid to hit. It's too early to start making broad statements or predictions about how the season will turn out. However, the one thing I'm sure of is that it looks like we have a very entertaining team to watch this season. |

Barret is going to playing Tuesday night against Hamilton, I'm not sure about Del Monte
Edit: Looks like Barret won't be playing after all |

My comment was not meant to imply a super bad performance from Cheverie, but rather, I was just wondering about Smith's return??? Maybe I'm spoiled after last years golie tandem, but I would still rather see two regular goalies in hand rather than possibly having to depend on an EBUG!!!

Congrats to DelMonte and Eggoehtz their call ups are well deserved. Sad to seem them go but hopefully they will do and if not they'll be back to help us. We're doing well as a franchise to keep getting guys called up. |

Reynolds and Smith called up before the season starts, and Ehgo and Del Monte yesterday. Most of the team could see time with any A team this year with Chuck in Rochester. |

This is nothing new. It's been constant around here for the past 4 years. The upside of two affiliates is you get some extra talent on the roster, the downside is the constant call-ups.
Weber's success was rooted heavily in his ability to back-fill call ups by plugging players into his system and maintaining success. Skalde is already being tested on that front. We'll see how he does.
We have talent on the roster this year, thats for sure.

Brett Robinson and Dylan Hunter. I know we have Hunter's ECHL rights from the Motherwell trade, but Hunter is signed by MKE not Cincinnati. |
