It was supposed to start at 5:00 but they were having problems getting the ice to freeze on the USA rink so they moved the game over to the Canada rink after a dry cut from the Zamboni at about 5:30. They went through warmups and had to replace some glass behind the home net. After that, players went into the locker rooms, we had another dry cut, and then we waited, and waited, and waited. Looked like they were working on the glass over one of the Zamboni doors. At about 6:10 all the players from both teams were standing on the ice talking. About 6:20, the visitors walked back over to the other rink. The Storm started just playing around on the ice (It was kinda fun watching grown men acting like boys playing the game they love). Anyway, we gave up at about 6:30 and left. Not sure what happened after that. I know the new management is really trying to make things work but it looks like they are fighting an uphill battle with all of the gremlins left from the last regime.

They need to get out of Sports Plus Arena if the building is going to continue to be an issue. While I think it is great that the league wants to put a team in Cincinnati, it isn't going to make it at SPA.

With that said, there is nowhere for them to go other then the Gardens and I highly doubt the Robinsons want to deal with another hockey club unless they were the only game in town.

At this point, the Storm will be lucky to finish the season if they keep cancelling games.

In my opinion, the Indiana Blizzard didn't want to play in either rink at all. I am one of the goal judges and my end was down where the Blizzard were shooting in warm-ups. Yes, there was a problem with one of the panels of glass and the rink staff was alerted to it by me. The Blizzard players would go up to the glass and start pulling on it. After the glass was replaced and they went to their locker room, the zamboni did a dry cut on the ice because the ice temperature was above what it should have been (temp. was about 28 degrees-should be at 22). When the Blizzard came out the first thing some of the players did was come over to the zamboni doors looking down at the ice along the boards. Then they complained about the doors itself saying they were uneven. After the ice had been repaired there the attention was to the doors, which took all of 5 minutes to fix. At that time the head coach pulled all of his players off the ice leaving all to wonder what was going on. Shortly after the P.A. announcer said that the Indiana team forfeited. The referee was in the other rink on the phone to I would assume is the league offices about what to do. As he was on the phone half of the Indiana players were already dressed and packed up. There was a possibility that the game would be play this morning, but Dwayne Zinger told me it wouldn't happen. I asked Jose Vazquez the team captain if the game could have been played and he said yes. They practice on it all the time. To me the Indiana team suffered from PMS.

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

ZINGER!!!!!

Well, I hope the Storm can get it together.

I went to the first game and nearly went yesterday. I would have been pretty upset if I drove out there and the game never happened. One of their October games was cancelled and having another game cancelled isn't going to sit well with people trying to check out this team. :-(

I think the GM of the Storm is also an owner of Sports Plus.

The ice near the zamboni door and the doors themselves are always an issue at Sports Plus; on both rinks. I can't count how many times I've played there and the puck gets wedged below the zamboni doors.

I would think the worse part would have been the temperature being to high and not allowing the ice to set up properly. Again, it's not uncommon for it to be late in the 2nd period for the ice to set up for many men's league games.

It will be a shame if the team doesn't succeed. I don't see them as competing with the product the Cyclones are putting on the ice and it's nice to have a lower level team in town that the 'Clones could possibly turn to for a body should the situation warrant it as Chuck did last year when he signed Ryan for from Evansville to fill in for a few games.

That's a shame when they're trying to make a go of it to have so many problems w/the arena. I read that the Storm owner had been an equipment manager I think for the Bombers; and owned some sort of hockey pro shop in Dayton. Hope Sports Plus can get some repairs done soon.
