You should like the team not the building. I am not a Garden or USBA fan. I am A Cyclone fan. It is at USBA live with it

Thanks Fletch for telling me what I should or should not like. I think I'm allowed an opinion. Must be a liberal, eh? The fact of the matter is that I can like both the team and the building.

A return to the Gardens was a hot topic a few years back on another 'Clones forum and the consensus of that group (a much larger contingent than I've seen post here) that a move back to the Gardens would be preferred. It gained some momentum when the Ducks pulled out of town, but then the ill fated Rail Raiders idea was hatched. There was a whole bunch of stuff going on in the background (which isn't tough in this town with the lack of media coverage of hockey) that many folks don't know. Obviously, nothing came to fruition and poof the 'Clones reappeared at USBA. I am certainly thankful that the 'Clones returned and I will support them wherever they play.

Unfortunately, that other forum is no longer in existence. I was hoping to see some of the old gang posting here, but I haven't seen them yet. You all would enjoy their postings. They are a passionate bunch. I'll be looking for them at USBA when the season starts.

Enjoy the upcoming season and please be nice to one another.

Hockeydawg - I think you took fletch's post a bit out of context. It wasn't an insult or telling you how or who to support - he is merely saying that you shouldn't not like a team because of the arena they play it, and it is kind of a lost cause to dwell on them moving to another arena when they are set to play at another one, in this case USBA. Speaking for myself, I would rather embrace the game at USBA rather than living on the memories at the Gardens.

As far as your comments on that "old board", I'm not sure which one you're referring to exactly, but I suggest try out CincySportsHistory.com and its active Cyclones/other Cincinnati hockey forum (as well as other Cincinnati sports for that matter). I think you'll find that a lot of the users there hold up to what you described of the members on the board you were referring to, and you will too be seeing a lot of US at USBA.

Checked out that website and the hockey message board. Interesting stuff. Sounds like you folks had quite a battle with another board. I'm not familiar with that board. We always kept things on a respectful level. I read with interest a number of "History of the Hockey Wars" (for lack of a better term) stories. As someone so appropriately pointed out, we must always remember that much of what is posted on any message board is opinion of the author. These "stories" were not an exception. They had some facts, some assumptions, and some opinions. Interesting nonetheless.

It's true that they were interesting ... but as someone who had to witness the mud-slinging, also pretty silly, and something I'd like to put in the past when discussing the current situation. You're right when you said that much was simply just that -- the opinion of the author.
