Tonights game was great except for what happened during the 3rd period. #18 for toledo was fighting like a little bastard! he was playing dirty and he was playing very unfair.
p.s. who ever started the tailgate patry this evening, please do it again @ the next home game

I agree. Terrific game tonight, and Dejardins was incredible. 37 shots, 37 blocks. His skill definitely lived up to the hype. The 3rd period fight was UGLY. How many people besides me think it had the feel of the bench-clearing brawl against the Cleveland Lumberjacks in 98?
Only bad thing was the big hit on the attendance. I thought it would be even better than last night due to no high cool football, but ouch. I only counted THREE people even in Section 60! At least the Y-M-C-A made its triumphant return. The goal horn, however, did not. |

I think we all need to write the ECHL to tell how a game got out of
hand and players hurt because the refs allowed the game to get out of hand.
Our goalie gets taken down,and the player coming to the rescue not only
gets the 5 minute fighting (deserved) but a 2 minute for being the second
man in(the goalie I guess was the legal fighter)!I'm not a fan of a "goon"
on the roster,but we need one.We have skaters but no one to stand up against
the opposing fighter.As for the goalie,that was a lucky shutout.The man has
goalie skills,but his stick handling was weak, multiple times he went behind
the net and Toledo was right on top of him and third, where is the leash to
tie him to the net!A solid year of play here should really help him. |

Thanks for the link Bags ~~ and agree with the out of control because of the refs. We have some players with good skills and I look forward to watching them improve as individuals and as a team. With the penalties in these first two game, it was nice to see that there already exsists good penalty kill skills. Oh, and I think you mean a bungie cord for our goalie ~ lol ~ that will 'snap' him back faster.
Hopefully we will not see too many games like this one. I got a 'little' hot under the collar when I saw the linesman chase our captain back to the bench when he was only trying to escort/hurry our Trainer to the downed teammate at center ice. Instead of taking charge and 'saying' "I'll take him from here", he was more interested in chasing our captain back to the bench and leaving the trainer to make it the rest of the way on his own.
For the most part this past weekend was like a reunion weekend!! Lots of hugs were given and received and LOTS of updates on whats' been happening. It was GREAT seeing a lot of the familiar faces and catching up with everyone. Lots of good memories were brought back and discussions of past and future road trips were a frequent topic.

Does anyone know the injury status from last night?I'm not sure which player
was hurt in the fight,but he left with what looked like a shoulder injury
and my guess a concussion. I don't want to see "Slap Shot" hockey, but we need
someone to teach our guys to "ice" fight.The ECHL site is great for info.We
have the number 1 and number 3 ranked goaltenders right now. I'm really confused
(as usual) abour attendance. We had 1200 fans less than Friday,but Friday's
crowd looked twice as big as last night. I only bring this up because attendance
figures have been used like a sword against Cincinnati hockey by radio and
newspaper reporters for years. I thought Friday was a great crowd and last night
for first night of World series wasn't bad either.Right now I am ready to eat
crow and welcome Wildman back to the mike.This isn't a golf match, but a loud and
wild hockey game.Turn it up about 5 notches! |

I wondered how the attendance would be. I only have a half season package, as do the five poeple with me, and saturday game wasnt one of them. After the preseason game, I seriously considered getting the rest! But the funds wont allow that, and a sump pump emergency kept me from coming down on my own last night.
I tried to listen to the game online, but my computer wouldnt allow it.
I miss RADIO! (and the glorious Terry Ficorelli post-game show!)
I wonder how many Half-season folks there are. If the number of pucks in the season ticket holders displays were any indication, there are a LOT of them (half and full) |

It was Conrad Martin who got hurt, and the Toledo punk was # 18, I couldn't catch or don't remember his name. I heard they he has a gash on his face (eye) and a seperated shoulder. Keep in mind that we already have two guys out in Erik Jonhson (on 3-day IR) and Greg Gallagher. |

I hope the league takes quick action on the fight. Although I know our
player wasn't an "innocent bystander" in the fight,the beating that was
dished out went beyond the level of a hockey fight.My hope is the team
can send a tape of the game so the league can see the reason for the
start of the fight and how the refs allowed the whole game to get out of
hand.Both players and refs need to take blame for the third period. |

The goon is #18 Nick Parillo. Did you all notice the amount of blood on the ice after the pounding?
I miss the post game show also. I loved listening to John Wiedeman on the drive home. Listening to away games on the web just doesn't cut it for me. Oh well. |

While post-game and all that jazz is nice, I'm actually more comfortable listening to games on the Internet more so than I am on an AM/FM radio. I say this because I rarely use a radio anymore outside of the car that I just pull out of the closet, plug in, and tune into the station then sit there the entire time listening to away games. Sitting comfortably like I would be at the computer worked out fine with me as long as it's a clear webcast.
Besides -- there's no horror of the the awful static in crappy AM stations. |

Great game last night. Loved seeing live Cyclones hockey once again. I doubt I will be able to make as many games as with my last season package but the team looks good. More importantly, WONDERFUL PENALTY KILLING AND FORECHECKING! Wow, we take on some shots though, huh? Would like to see more from the offense as far as taking more shots on net/keeping it in the zone as they did in the mid/later parts of the game. Looked a little sloppy in the 1st but they turned it on later in the game. Looks like we may have some solid shot blocking and guys who hustle on defense.
Good 'ol Nick Parillo. I yelled at him as he was leaving the ice about bringing his stick next time. I was too busy watching what was going on behind the net when I caught some Toledo player doing a Lex Luger flying forearm from the bench.
By the way, was that Maleyko (toledo) from that last season's 'clones roster?
#64 Gadja (sp?) showed some great hustle. He stood out to me. |

Yeah... One guy is participating in the Cyclones Survivors and the other only got a 12-game package. I believe the guys from across the aisle, in 101, also have a 12-game package.

Nice to have you back on board Jung, and nice pro wrestling reference. Gajda has stuck out to me too, ever since he made that great play to score the short-handed goal against Pensacola.
And no offense to the guy in the Suite Survivor thing, but I thought it looked pretty week. Perhaps it will progress as it gets going, but it just seemed to be "there." Looks more like a joke than anything else. Sitting in 106, 4 rows up though, a buddy in my group caught a left-over hamburger. |

| TWO games? Can you say "lenient?" Oh well thought, at least the kid is being punished and might have some integrity next time he gets on the ice, rather than try to give someone permanent damage. |
