| Are goaltenders exempt from the protected list? It seems curious that no goalies are protected. |

| None were eligible to be listed. All from last year were on AHL/NHL contracts and protected by them. |

From the list, I've seen enough of Scott Reynolds, Mike Liambas and Mathieu Aubin and Garrett Suter was pretty much toast in the playoffs. He is young so I will give him that |

I don't know about the other guys but I'll have to agree about Liambas. When he first came here I gave him the benefit of the doubt that he may have just gotten a bad rap. But after watching him a few times, it seemed to me his bad reputation was well deserved. It looked to me that if the third period rolled around and he hadn't gotten in a fight yet, looking for one was the only thing on his mind. Sometimes it was pretty pathetic watching him beg for fights when the other team would just skate away from the little guy and laugh. I don't know, maybe he's a good guy off the ice, hard worker, great teammate and all those other cliches, but I really just do not enjoy seeing an undersized goon wannabe on the roster.
Was glad to see the prospect of maybe getting Benn Olson back but was disappointed to not see Comrie. Is he under contract with Rochester?
I'm hoping Robinson is/will be healthy this year. I thought he started out last year as the one of the teams best but that ankle got f**ed up pretty bad. |

Thank you for the info. Interesting. Including Foster? Who owns his contract? |

Thank you. I didn't realize he was Florida's property. |

The protected list doesn't really mean squat, just that we have first shot at offering those guys qualifying offers. The fun begins when the qualifying list come out which is usually at the beginning of July. The Cyclones get to offer qualify 8 of those guys. I believe Egho, Reynolds and Aubin are vets and if Skalde has the same philosophy as Chuck I wouldn't expect to see those guys get qualifying offers.
Even if a guy gets qualified it doesn't mean he'll be back. He can hold out until early August and become a free agent going to the highest bidder. Or he could hop the pound to Europe. So let the fun begin...
oh and I'll be surprised if Brunker announces player signings as they happen. It's been the teams M.O. to hold the press releases until late summer. Maybe he'll change it up, but the organization has always been proponents of not tipping their hat until the last minute. |

I guess I'm cool with not letting us know who is signed. But I'd like to know that players are getting signed.
'not tipping their hat until the last minute' looks like incompetence to your fan base. If the Puckopolis updates said something like, quote: Player signings started this week, and we've already successfully signed 4 players!
I would be happy. I just don't want the perception to be Skalde waiting until the last minute to sign players again, and him suffering for it, if the team doesn't do amazing things this year. |
