CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Cincinnati Cyclones, proud affiliate of the NHL's Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators, announced today that they have agreed to terms with defenseman Brian O'Hanley for the 2011-12 season.

O'Hanley, a 2003 ninth-round selection of the San Jose Sharks, returns to the Cyclones for the fourth consecutive season. Since coming to Cincinnati during the 2008-09 campaign, the Quincy, Massachusetts native has skated in 167 games in a Cyclones jersey – good for sixth-most on the franchise games-played list. O'Hanley was also a member of the 2010 Kelly Cup championship team and finished second among team-defensemen with eight points (3 goals, 5 assists) during that postseason. A year ago, the five-foot-eleven, 190-pound rear guard posted a career-high 29 points (7 goals, 22 assists) in 53 games for Cincinnati.

"I thought Brian was consistently one of our best defenseman last season," said Cyclones Head Coach Jarrod Skalde. "With his familiarity to Cincinnati as well as some experience at the American Hockey League level last year, I expect him to build on his performance and provide great leadership for our group."

Last January, the fourth-year pro was selected to his first-career ECHL All-Star Classic; he earned an assist and a +4 plus/minus rating in the game. O'Hanley also earned two stints at the American Hockey League level in 2010-11 - appearing in three games with the Rochester Americans and 16 games with the Portland Pirates - combining for three points (1 goal, 2 assists). Prior to going pro, he was a four-year letter-winner at Boston College, which advanced to the NCAA National Championship Game in both 2006 and 2007.

The countdown to the 2011-12 season is underway! Secure your seats for Saturday, November 5 when the Cyclones welcome the Chicago Express to U.S. Bank Arena for the first time at 7:30pm.
