Cyclones receive Rabbit, Comrie from San Antonio

CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Cincinnati Cyclones, proud affiliate of the NHL’s Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators, announced today that forward Wacey Rabbit and defenseman Adam Comrie have both been assigned to the club by the San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League.


Rabbit, a 2005 fifth-round selection by the Boston Bruins, comes to Cincinnati after spending four of the last five seasons in the AHL. In 2009-10, he was a member of the Cyclones AHL affiliate, the Milwaukee Admirals, and earned 18 points (8g-10a) in 76 contests. Last season, the Lethbridge, Alberta native logged 53 games overseas in Zagreb, finishing fifth on his team in scoring with 39 points in 53 games. Collectively as a pro, he has amassed 120 points (46g-74a) in 291 career games.


Comrie, a 21-year-old Asburn, Va. native, is entering his second season as a professional. A 2008 third-round draft choice by the Florida Panthers, Comrie skated in 13 games with the Cyclones last year and earned nine points (4g-5a) with 16 penalty minutes. In the 2011 Kelly Cup Playoffs, he posted a two points (1g-1a) in a pair of games. Prior to going pro, he spent three years in the OHL, totaling 33 goals and 65 assists in 137 games.

I should not make fun of somebody's name, but I can't help myself. No disrespect meant, but can't help but wonder how many times Brunker will say "Racey Wabbit" on the air this season?
