CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Cincinnati Cyclones, proud affiliate of the NHL’s Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators, announced today that they have agreed to terms with goaltender Danny Taylor for the 2011-12 season.
Taylor, now entering his sixth season as a professional, has seen time in the ECHL, AHL, NHL and overseas during his career. The 25-year-old Plymouth, England native was a seventh-round selection of the Los Angeles Kings in 2004 and made his NHL debut with the Kings on March 29, 2008 against the Dallas Stars. Taylor has also logged 51 career games at the American Hockey League level, earning a 2.65 goals-against average and a .914 save percentage during that span.
Last year, he appeared in four games with the Springfield Falcons (AHL) before heading overseas to join the Hamburg Freezers (Germany). In 28 contests with the Freezers, Taylor posted a 2.90 goals-against average and .905 save percentage.
The six-foot-one, 177-pound backstop has also seen time in the ECHL with the Texas Wildcatters, Bakersfield Condors, Reading Royals and Gwinnett Gladiators.

I remember him shutting us down in the 07-08 playoffs (the only goaltender to do that in that playoff run). Hopefully he still can play at that level.
The signing also makes me wonder if our affiliates are sending us any goaltenders. |

If I were betting money on it I'd say this signing means only one affiliate is sending a goaltender, or that this signing was actually put together by an affiliate.
My money is still on Chet playing here again. He's still under contract and will have to show much better game results before spending time above this level in anything other than an emergency situation.
Taylor has some decent numbers over 50+ games in the AHL, so assuming his mind is right and he wants to be here he should be a nice asset to have.

| Until the Florida goaltender gets healthy I do not know if we will see Foster or anybody from the Florida organization since Legace is on a try out. Thats what happens when injuries happen its a domino effect. |
